Thank you to the Team at NLC for their response.

It’s no sooner Monday than it’s Friday again - is it just me or are the weeks flying by?
In the last couple of weeks I’ve been busy getting shrubs / trees / pathways cut back and reporting areas that require to be w**d treated & maintained following constituent contact. 🌱
The maintenance of football pitches are up there among residents’ concerns which I was able to help sort out - some examples among the many issues highlighted to me for follow-up recently which also included organising road safety assessments.
Thank you to Land & Waste Services & Roads Department at NLC in particular for their patience and prompt action in recent weeks.
As always, you can call me on 07581 032649 or email at [email protected]
I’m off out to meet a constituent this afternoon, so the message is -
You know where I am ……………….

Weekly evenings helping out the Holytown Environmental Group with a bit of plant maintenance / w**ding / litter picking will be reducing soon as the days become shorter and colder. Tonight I concentrated on a bit of shrub trimming in the Community Garden with members of the Group.
There’s always something to look forward to, though, and I am excited in anticipation to see the Christmas Tree in the Holytown Community Garden being lit up for the Festive celebration.
Please have a look at the solar lighting in the Memorial Garden if you haven’t already - a real triumph for the Group which looks beautiful!
Group members have achieved great things this year and have made a real difference to Holytown.
I’m honoured to have been a part of it all ❤️

Update on Dornoch Road Play Park in Holytown :
Consultation letters for the refresh of Dornoch Road Play Park have been sent out to residents this week and local schools will also have the opportunity to have their say as well.
It’s been a great Summer for the Mossend & Holytown area as Play Parks have been completely upgraded and Dornoch Road Play Park will be modernised to better suit the needs of local residents.
Thanks to the Community Partnership Team at NLC for their help with all projects.

It was my please to be able to support the Bellshill & Mossend YMCA Fun Day earlier today.
Thank you to all Staff for my wonderful welcome and guided tour of what the YMCA has to offer the community - it was very much appreciated.
The Fun Day was really well attended even although the event coincided with the North Lanarkshire Half Marathon road closures.
Well done, everybody - the children looked as if they were having a fantastic time!
Well done to everyone who took part in the Half Marathon as well!

I was delighted to see that the pavement in Hope Street, Mossend, has been completely resurfaced after I reported the large pothole at the entrance to the Car Park before the School holidays.
NLC did say they would patch the pothole initially, then do a proper job of resurfacing, which they have done.
Thank you to the Roads Department at NLC for all their help and to the constituents who brought the issue to my attention.

It was lovely to catch up with members of the Parent Council in Mossend earlier this evening at their first Meeting after the Summer break. Always happy to support School Parent Councils in the Ward.
Afterwards, I met up with the Holytown Environmental Group for a bit of w**ding in the War Memorial Garden in Holytown which is always a worthwhile endeavour.
Busy evening!

I’ve asked for the trees / shrubs at each side of the pathway leading from Torrance Park to Holytown & New Stevenston to be cut back. The pathway includes the wooden bridge over the A723 and is currently overgrown.
The pathway provides an important walking route for children attending local schools and needs to be clear, particularly as we head into the Autumn & Winter months.
Thank you to constituents who brought this issue to my attention.

It was privilege to attend the Battle of Bothwell Bridge Commemoration Service at St. Andrew's United Free Church, Bellshill earlier this evening and to read a Scripture from the New Testament.
Thank you to Rev. Jason Lingiah for a lovely Service, to the volunteers in the kitchen for welcome refreshments and to Church members and visitors for their warm welcome as always.
