๐ซ๐ท In France, a sprig of le muguet (lily of the valley) is traditionally given on 1st May to bring good luck and happiness for the year ahead.
Delicate, bell-shaped, and beautifully fragrant, these flowers are a symbol of spring, renewal, and good fortune.
The tradition dates back to 1561 when King Charles IX of France was gifted a sprig of muguet and told it would bring him luck. He loved the idea so much, he began giving it to the ladies of his court each year.
