This week we attended a beautiful rural farm over in tranquil Rainow, in the Peak District, conducting annual fire extinguisher servicing, along with commissioning new fire extinguishers within several holiday cottages.

Fire extinguisher servicing includes a comprehensive inspection and maintenance process ensuring optimal working condition at all times.

This involves checking the overall physical condition of the extinguisher for any signs of damage, corrosion, or leaks, as well as verifying that the pressure gauge is in full working order and within the acceptable range known as the ‘Green Zone’.

Our fire extinguisher engineer will also thoroughly inspect the discharge horn, or hose, for blockages or wear and tear, replace various critical rubber seals, weigh the extinguisher, and perform a functional test where applicable, and check that all certification labels and operating instructions, including pictograms, are clear and legible.

Additionally, the service may include extended-servicing/service-exchanging of the fire extinguisher if it has been used, or has arrived at its 5 or 10-yearly major service interval, or if it is found to be low on pressure Etc.
