*Upcoming Steel Tariffs and Quotas*

I've written to Ministers voicing serious concerns from businesses about the Government's proposed steel tariff regime due to kick in in just a couple of weeks.

The aim of supporting UK steel is the right one. However, several manufacturers have warned me that the new quota and tariff regime will increase costs, reduce competitiveness, and make it harder to source certain steel products that simply aren’t made in the UK.

Businesses are concerned that costs will rise and that we will become less competitive as a nation.

That’s why I’ve asked the Government what assessment it has made of the impact on downstream manufacturers, what support or flexibility will be available where UK supply is limited, and how these measures will be reviewed once in force.

Today, I have submitted an urgent Written Parliamentary Question asking whether the Government will publish the final quota figures before the new regime comes into force on 1st July.

Businesses need clarity to plan ahead, not uncertainty at the border.

His wholehearted endorsement of our fantastic local candidate, Sarah Simms, reinforced the strength of our campaign and our shared vision for Lutterworth East.
Sarah has a proven record of serving her community and is committed to standing up for local residents, listening to their concerns and delivering on the issues that matter most.
There is a real sense of positivity and momentum on the doorstep, and with the continued support of our hardworking volunteers and local residents, we will keep taking our message to every corner of the ward right up to polling day.

Postal votes will be landing shortly for the Lutterworth East by-election.

Our candidate Sarah Simms is a true community champion and will champion the following.

1 - Cleaner Streets and tougher action on fly-tipping.

2 - More CCTV and safer public spaces.

3 - Supporting local businesses and bringing more people into the town centre.

So a vote for Sarah is a vote for a true local community champion that will stand up for the people of Lutterworth.

Despite a morning of persistent rain, the weather took a welcome turn just as the team prepared to head out in support of Conservative candidate Sarah Simms in the forthcoming Lutterworth East by-election. As the clouds cleared and the sun emerged, spirits were lifted and the team enjoyed an excellent afternoon on the campaign trail.
The response from residents on the doorstep was overwhelmingly positive, with many engaging in constructive conversations about the issues that matter most to the local community. Sarah's commitment to Lutterworth East and her strong local credentials continue to resonate with voters, and it was encouraging to see
