Planning a visit to Needham Lake during the hot weather?
Please take extra care and help us keep everyone safe while enjoying the lake and its facilities.
Due to the current extreme heat and dry conditions, the static barbecues have been temporarily removed. Please do not bring or use disposable barbecues, portable barbecues, open fires or naked flames, as fires can spread quickly in these conditions.
Make sure you:
• Stay hydrated and seek shade where possible.
• Avoid prolonged time in direct sun, especially during the hottest part of the day.
• Check play equipment before children use it, as surfaces can become very hot.
• Please do not swim or jump into the lake to cool off. Open water can be very cold and may contain hidden hazards.
• If you see anyone in difficulty in the water, call 999 and do not enter the lake to attempt a rescue.
