I just wanted to give everyone an update date on my background and how the campaign is going.
I lived in the Marsden area for 25 years and my children and grandchildren all attended the local schools. My Great Grandson is currently in reception at Castercliffe Academy.
I worked for Pendle Borough Council for 11 years before helping to set up Pendle Leisure Trust in 2000. I Managed a range of facilities including the Municipal Hall, Silverman Hall (and Marsden Park Golf course for a brief period.) On leaving Pendle Leisure Trust I remained living on Pinewood Drive in Nelson and commuted to senior jobs in Rossendale and Humberside. I spent 14 years working at an executive level in the charity sector working with senior politicians, community business leaders, NHS Trust executives. Senior Emergency Servises Officers and Government Agencies. I chaired several proffessional sports club foundations and worked closely with senior national politicians sitting on a range of development panels and boards
I spent a professional lifetime working with communities of all kinds, overcoming challenges and developing relationships. I understand how local democracy works and how the different levels interact. I understand the finances and the frustrations. I understand the passion and the sence of pride when a community achieves the change it desires. Pendle is my home and I have many members of my family who live in the Marsden and Southfield area. I would be honoured to be elected as the Reform UK representative for the Marsden and Southfield ward on May 7th. But I also understand that if I am elected, that is when the hard work really begins.
