Time is running out to share your views.

Our survey on the future of Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service closes this Sunday.

We’re currently developing our next Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP), the five-year plan that guides how we keep people across Lancashire safe. At this stage, there are no proposed changes; we’re simply asking communities what matters most to them.

Your feedback will help shape how our services are delivered in the years ahead, and we’re keen to hear from as many people as possible before the survey closes.

Take part in our short survey here:

Closes 5pm Sunday 15 March 2026

Your response will help guide how we protect and support communities over the next five years.

Pendle Team 79 have been hard at work on the programme. They have now completed 4 weeks of the 12 week programme.

They have undertaken meeting new people, putting out fires at our Learning and Development Centre. Completed a week long residential trying activities like canoeing, raft building, a 8KM self-led walk and a mountain rescue activity.

This week they started their 2 week community project where the group are helping a local non profit group to build a outdoor community garden that will eventually be used towards food banks and helping the local community.

So far the group are doing an amazing job with all the activities! Lets keep it up team

We recently held a chip pan fire demonstration at one of our fire stations to help raise awareness of cooking safety within our community 🚒

Most kitchen fires are preventable:

Keep an eye on cooking, especially when using oil, and remember water on a pan fire can be deadly

Small actions. Big impact. 🏠🔥

Our Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) sets out how we’ll keep people safe over the next five years and right now, we’re simply listening.

There are no proposed changes at this stage. We just want to understand what matters most to you.

We’re planning for the future of our services and your views matter.

Our Community Risk Management Plan is a five-year plan that outlines how we will help keep people in Lancashire safe. To shape our next plan, we’re inviting residents, businesses and communities to tell us what’s most important to them.

Your feedback will help guide how our services are delivered in the years ahead, with a further, more detailed consultation planned later in 2026.

With the cold weather and icy conditions that we are experiencing at the moment. We wanted to highlight the dangers of walking on ice covering the lakes, canals, and reservoirs around our area.

Although the ice may look thick and fun to skate around on, the ice may not be as thick as it appears.

Even our shallow bodies of water like ponds can cause drowning due to cold water shock if ice breaks unexpectedly.

Please bear this in mind when out and about, walking your dogs or even your children playing in the snow.

The Pennine area has experience an increasing number of kitchen fires, which have primarily been cooking related and items being left on top of hobs and work surfaces.

Please don’t use your hob as extra worktop space - it can be dangerous.

Children or pets could accidentally switch it on, causing a fire.

We’ve attended incidents where items like washing baskets have been left on the hob and caught fire.

Always keep your cooking area clear, clutter-free, and safe.
