Abernethy Old Kirk Association

Abernethy Old Kirk Association is dedicated to preserving the Old Kirk for the benefit of the community both near and far. SC372682

The Old Kirk, now owned and managed by the community, is self funded. To keep the building in good repair the directors need to hold fund raising events throughout the spring, summer and autumn. These are many and varied from talks and concerts to exhibitions of many kinds which are very popular with exhibitors and visitors alike. These help to bring in the cash needed for roof and building repair

s. Sometimes it may not be possible to hold funerals in the Old Kirk due to these other uses although this very rarely happens as the directors will always try their utmost to accommodate all. And so, the Old Kirk has become a great asset to Nethy Bridge with the building now secure and used and available for weddings, funerals and occasional worship for any Christian denomination. Thank you everyone who came to enjoy coffee, cakes and chat today in the community centre in Nethy. We took £390 and the winner of the wonderful raffle was Steve. Well done him.
