Just finished this and passed it on but it should be back in the Hutch soon ☺️ has anyone else read it yet ? It’s by a local well published author who now lives in my neighbourhood village Sudbrook

The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah. A beautiful book that pulled me into the raw beauty and danger of Alaska while telling such an emotional, powerful story about resilience, love, and survival. The characters felt incredibly real, especially Leni, whose journey of growing up in such an unforgiving landscape was both heartbreaking and inspiring. The novel balanced moments of hope with the harsh reality of abuse and isolation, and it left me thinking about the strength it takes to endure hardship while still holding on to love and dreams

Didn’t love it but need to find out what happens to Rune and Gideon. I do feel like it was more of a young adult book, I have tried to find out if it is but I can’t find anything 🤷‍♀️ does anyone else feel the same ?

A bit controversial because I know lots of people love this book however i felt the video game industry setting didn't resonate with me and I found those parts of the book really boring. The novel leans heavily into video game culture, design theory, and game development and that world doesn't interest me, the mechanics distracted from the emotional story, The book was very slow which I normally don't mind however the characters didn't hold my interest and I wasn't invested in them enough to care about them

I run a free library book service in my village because I believe stories should belong to everyone. Whether it’s a child discovering their first adventure or an someone revisiting the past, I want books to be within reach — no cost, no barriers. This isn’t just about reading. It’s about sharing knowledge, sparking imagination, and bringing people together — one borrowed book at a time.

📚May reads and reviews 📖

Bury our bones on the midnight soil
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A dark magical tale about vampires, le****ns, and toxic relationships. It tells the story of three women, Maria, Charlotte, and Alice, whose lives are intertwined across centuries. Set in 1532, 1837, and 2019 respectively, the novel explores themes of hunger, loss, and the search for love 🧛‍♀️ brilliant I loved it !

The House in the Cerulean Sea
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ heartwarming, magical children, . The story explores themes of prejudice, belonging, and the power of love and acceptance, oh and the Antichrist 🤣 I couldn’t put it down I love it

Witchcraft for Wayward Girls
⭐️⭐️ Set in the oppressive heat of 1970s St. Augustine, Florida, the story follows Fern, a fifteen-year-old pregnant girl sent to the Wellwood Home where society's so called “wayward girls” are meant to be forgotten. I love Grady Hendrix books but this wasn’t my favourite, could have been half as long

My Best Friends Exorcism
⭐️⭐️⭐️

Quirky horror novel about high school seniors Abby and Gretchen, BFFs since their elementary days, whose bond is put to the test by Satan when Gretchen gets possessed. What transpires is gross and scary and sad and sweet, all at the same time. Set in the 80s so I enjoyed the nostalgia and the characters
