POLITE NOTICE

Due to the recent (and glorious!) weather, the Council has made the difficult decision to temporarily pause the operation of the High Lea Park fountain.

This is to play our part in conserving the much needed water levels in our lovely peaks.

The fountain will resume its duty as soon as possible :)

POLITE NOTICE

Thank you to everyone who has contacted the Town Hall to raise their concerns regarding the noise levels of the recently repaired Town Hall clock.

Due to the historic mechanism that operates the clock and its chimes, unfortunately it is not possible to programme or reschedule the bells to ring at different times or to silence them during particular hours.

🎨✨ Something a little special at the café! ✨🎨

We’re delighted to have a selection of paintings by Brian Nolan displayed around the café at High Lea Hall. 🖼️

The paintings are hung throughout the café and museum, so you can enjoy Brian’s artwork while relaxing with a coffee, a bite to eat and taking in the beautiful surroundings of High Lea Hall. ☕🍰🌿

The paintings will be on display from 28th July until 14th September 2026, and the café is open every day from 11am–4pm.

Why not pop in, grab a cuppa and have a look around? 💛

15 VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED for ONE WORLD FESTIVAL.

Please sign up via the link below if you can spare an hour or two to help out.
www.tinyurl.com/OWF-2026-vol

Several of your New Mills Town Council councillors will be volunteering on the day. We'll also have a stall if you’d like to take part in our Parks and Open Spaces consultation or discuss other areas where we have responsibility.

Can you help?

We're in the final phase of preparing for this year’s One World Festival but we're still on the look out for people to help us on the day, including people with access to a van, trailer or large car. If you think you can help us on Saturday 4th July 2026 please fill in our online form at:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScKpDipZJG3pLN4mEq737bbEEctLPCepb13ONClakA6i6E_fg/viewform

Jobs include:

- Bucket collections - vital to pay for next year!
- Stewarding - the eyes and ears of the festival
- Bar - keeping everyone well-refreshed!
- Area managing - making everything run smoothly
- Helping pack down - need fresh legs when everyone is getting tired!
- Vehicles - to help transport equipment to and from the storage at Newtown.

Even if you can only help out for an hour before or after the Festival, that would be invaluable. If you have a van, trailer or large car that could be used moving things, that would also be extremely useful.
