Some of the ladies who attended the craft session at Scone Library on Wednesday looked mighty pleased with their wonderful coasters. It was great to have six ladies attend, and they are all looking forward to the next session on Wednesday 8 July, when they will be making tote bags.🛍️

Welcome to Scone….

✨ Exciting News! ✨

Hello everyone!

My name is Bethan, and I am absolutely delighted to be taking over the studio. First of all, I want to say a huge thank you to Charlotte for all of her hard work in building such a wonderful, welcoming place that so many of you know and love.

I can’t tell you how excited I am to begin this new adventure and to meet all of our lovely customers over the coming weeks and months. Whether you’re a regular visitor or thinking about coming along for the very first time, I can’t wait to welcome you through the doors.

We will be reopening on Saturday 20th June and will be open weekends only until July. Once July arrives, our opening days and times will be a little different from the usual schedule while I settle into running the business, so please keep an eye on our social pages for updates and opening hours.

Anyone waiting to collect your fantastic pottery creations, you should be contacted shortly 😊

Thank you for all the kindness and encouragement I’ve already received. I truly cannot wait to meet you all, welcome familiar faces back, and create many happy memories together.

Fantastic news….

We are delighted to see library services recognised for the benefits they bring to individuals and communities across our region, and welcome the announcement today of continued support from Elected Members and Council Officers at Perth and Kinross Council. The paper agreed by Council today secures the future of current provision and offers a route forward for the further development of libraries as true community hubs for a range of services and activities.

The support we have received from library users, campaigners and communities has been vital to this successful outcome, and we look forward to continuing to work together to serve local needs and interests.

For Culture Perth and Kinross staff, today’s welcome news provides reassurance after several years of uncertainty, and we thank them for all their hard work and excellent service, even during difficult times.

We will continue to work with the Council on the implementation of the recommendations of the report and in the meantime express our gratitude for local Elected Members' support for libraries.

Road closures for Perth’s pipe band celebrations - Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June 2026

The European Pipe Band Championships and City of Perth Salute are coming to the North Inch, bringing a full weekend of pipes and drums to the city.

To support these two fantastic events, a number of temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be in place from midnight on Saturday 27 June on Rose Terrace and Barossa Place. Stormont Street and Barossa Street will stay open, but access from Barossa Place will be restricted.

Local diversions will be in place, with pedestrian access and emergency routes maintained. Roads will reopen as soon as possible once the event has finished.

If you’re planning to attend, there is plenty of city centre parking available, including Pullar House multi-storey which is around a 10-minute walk to the North Inch. Find all city centre car parks at https://www.pkc.gov.uk/cityparking

If you’re travelling by bus, please check with local operators for any diversions.

If you live in Perth and Kinross and are housebound, recovering from illness, have mobility or visual difficulties, or care for someone at home, we can bring the library to you. Our volunteers deliver books, large print and audiobooks straight to your door.

🚨 Join us at Scone Library for a fun and engaging storytelling session led by a Police Officer. Discover what it’s like to work in the police and get a close look inside a police car.
