🚒 Could You Be a Firefighter in Newark ? 🚒

Make a difference. Protect your community. Become an on-call firefighter.

Have you ever thought about becoming a firefighter but assumed you couldn't fit it around your existing job or family life?

Newark Fire Station is keen to hear from local people who would like to find out more about becoming an on-call firefighter.

On-call firefighters play a vital role in protecting our community. They respond to emergencies, undertake regular training and work together as part of a close-knit team, all while balancing their other commitments.

We're looking for expressions of interest from people who:

Live or work in or around Newark .

Want to make a real difference in their local community.

Can offer time to respond to emergency calls.

Are keen to learn new skills and work as part of a team.

Would like to explore a rewarding role alongside their existing employment.

You don't need previous firefighting experience. Training and development are provided. Interested in finding out more?

We're inviting local people to register their interest and learn more about what being an on-call firefighter involves.
There is no obligation to apply simply because you've expressed an interest.

On Sunday the 29th November 10am till 15.00 we will be holding a Christmas Fair Open Day at Newark Fire Station.

Hopefully this will be a popular event especially with the light switch on being on the same date.

We have space available for 10 stalls for local businesses, if you are interested in being involved in this event please message us via Facebook Messenger for further details.

We are also looking for any donations for the Tombola which will be greatly appreciated. Just drop them off at Newark Fire Station.

All monies raised will go to the Firefighters Charity.🚒🎅🏻🎄🎁

MAJOR INCIDENT ‼️

As of 1:30 pm, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service has declared a major incident. This relates to the cumulative impact of multiple incidents placing significant pressure on operational resources, rather than a single incident in isolation.

The Service is currently operating with very limited resources and reduced pump availability. As a result, response times to any further incidents are likely to be delayed.

Still call 999 in an emergency.

We would like to remind people not to light any fires, such as campfires or BBQs, and to take extra care when disposing of ci******es due to the incredibly dry conditions, as a spark could spread quickly.

Before I launch into this post I'd like to extend a massive thanks to Toni&Guy, Starbucks and Newark radio who were incredible and without whom this fundraising challenge could not have taken place.

Earlier this year Sophie got in touch, an on call Firefighter from Worksop who had done the most incredible feat, she had beaten cancer and come back to operational duty, not only that but she had worked extra hard and been successful in the extremely competitive wholetime process and secured a job.....with us on Newark White Watch. She quickly became part of the team, no family, here at Newark so we were all devastated when we heard that on a well deserved dream holiday to the USA, postponed from 2024 when she received her previous diagnosis, Sophie had been taken ill again. The big C was back and now not only was she going to have to fight again, she was going to have to find $25000 in medical fees.
Well, she wasn't doing that alone, not while she's on White Watch Newark, and so the fund raising ladder climb was planned. Firefighters from Newark both Wholetime and on call and Worksop came together in the blazing heat and climbed up and down a 13.5m ladder to a combined height of 8000ft and raised £616 👏

Firefighters from Newark Fire Station are taking on our Charity Ladder Climb Challenge in support of Firefighter Sophie Easdon today in Newark Marketplace.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, Sophie is now within touching distance of her fundraising. Firefighters will be climbing to help raise those final funds and show Sophie that we're right behind her.
