We were pleased to attend the Safeguarding and Vulnerabilities Conference hosted by Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Our Projects and Participation team, including our Carers Manager and Voice and Participation Lead, took part in a day full of valuable learning from expert speakers.
It was a great opportunity to continue learning how we can best support people to feel safe, heard and valued.

We've had a fantastic time celebrating , as we do every year. But it is important to continue to recognise the value of volunteers all year round! Their time, commitment and generosity underpin so much of what we do at Reach Learning Disability and make a lasting difference to the people we support.

Here are some beautiful reflections from our volunteers that capture the impact of being part of our community:
“A truly wonderful place where I feel valued and have a real sense of purpose with lovely people.”
“Such a happy, fun place. Always lots of laughs. I so look forward to my days at Reach and miss the clients when I am not there.”

These words reflect not only the contribution volunteers make, but also the relationships, purpose and sense of belonging that volunteering can bring.

Thank you to those who celebrated with us this week, and to every volunteer who continues to support our work throughout the year. Thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund for supporting our valuable and essential volunteering programme. If you are interesting in volunteering for Reach, please email [email protected]

Our volunteers give so much to our charity. Without them, we simply would not be able to do what we do. Thank you to each and every one of you for your time, energy and commitment. 💖
We are also very proud to be supporting adults with learning disabilities to start or develop their own volunteering journeys, building skills, confidence and connections in their communities.

What a brilliant long weekend away on the Norfolk coast. Clients, staff and supporting carers enjoyed seaside walks, crab spotting, archery, meeting donkeys, games and lots of dancing at the evening discos. Add to that good food and good company, and it made for a really special supported holiday.

Trips like this help create opportunities for connection, confidence and shared experiences. Thank you to everyone who has supported and donated to Reach, as our holidays offer is reliant on voluntary income. We're already looking ahead to the next holiday!

It has been a fantastic week at Flower Pod Southwell 🍕🌿
We have loved welcoming teams from St. James's Place, with different employees joining us each day to work alongside clients. Together they have been building a cob pizza oven and supporting projects across the garden.
Thanks to funding from the St James’s Place Charitable Foundation, this brilliant new addition will soon be ready to use and today, on National Pizza Party Day, it feels especially well timed!
The oven will create new opportunities for the people we support, from cookery courses where participants can make and enjoy their own healthier pizzas, to celebration events and evening socials that bring people together.
A huge thank you to everyone involved for your time, energy and support. We cannot wait for the first pizza party.

What a day for the Flower Pod Flyers at Nottingham’s first Super Soapbox Challenge 🚀🌼
After months of designing and building their wheelbarrow-inspired racecart with clients, the team took on a very steep four metre starting ramp in Old Market Square… and flew! We are so proud of everyone involved. Watch our two minute video to see the journey from start to finish.

A small fall in round one did not stop them. They got back up, finished strong in the rest of the rounds and brought fantastic energy to the whole event with their flower power outfits 🌸
