Our Library at Newbold Verdon Our Library @ Newbold Verdon – providing a community-managed and volunteer-run Library and community hub for our village and the surrounding area.

Our Group was set up in 2015 in response to Leicestershire County Council’s decision to withdraw staffing for rural Libraries. We wanted to save this fantastic building and village resource for current and future residents. If we had not come forward, the Library would have closed. We are a registered charity (number 1164233) and are working to become self-funding over time as County Council fundi

ng reduces. Our initial aim, with the continued support of Leicestershire County Council is to maintain current services such as free book loans (up to 12 books at a time) to adults and children, access to computers and Wifi and a range of reading initiatives for the young. In the longer term, we aim to build on what works well by extending the range of services and activities on offer – and hopefully to give everyone in the community a reason to visit.

You could support your youngsters by trying to read 6 books of your own too!

STARTS: Saturday 4th July
UNTIL: Saturday 12th September
WHO IS IT FOR: Children aged 4 - 12

THEME: 🎵 Read to the Beat 🎶📚

THE CHALLENGE:
To visit the Library at least 3 times and to read 6 books.
You'll receive special folders for stickers and rewards gained in completing the challenge.

There will be updates on activities at the Library over the summer holidays.
