Summer may be ending, but we will be out in the community this autumn!

Come and join us at one of our pop-up events to have a friendly chat about fostering. We're here to answer any questions you might have, whether you're ready to start your journey, or have never considered fostering before.

Where you can find us:
⛱️ Tynemouth Food Festival - 5th and 6th September
🏃🏾‍♂️ Junior Great North Run - 12th September
💼 UK Careers Fair - 2nd October

We also have regular online information sessions, where you can come and find out more about the assessment process and what support you receive if you foster with Newcastle City Council.

We've had a lot of calls asking how you can support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library in Newcastle 🥰 Here's how!

Dolly said "Every book is a treasure and every time you open one up, you will meet new friends and take wonderful journeys to magical places."

Newcastle City Council has funded the city's programme for two years, with over 3,000 babies signed up to receive free books every month until they are five, and over 15,700 books sent out so far. More children are being signed up every day!

Dolly Parton wanted young children to develop a love of reading that would bring them joy, education and spark their imagination. We do too.

With your help, we hope to keep offering free books and helping to give every child the best start in life.

If you would like to make a donation use the link in the comments to go to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library website then:

- Set the currency to GBP
- Tick “I would like to designate this donation to a specific Imagination Library Local Program Partner”
- Choose “NUT – Newcastle Imagination Library”
- If you’re a UK taxpayer, tick “I want to claim Gift Aid” so even more money can go towards supporting children to read

We are excited to be a part of the Newcastle's Best Holiday Ever Summer Festival! Taking place on Tuesday 25th August from 10:00am to 2:00pm at Cochrane Park Sports Ground, Heaton, this free event is designed to bring families and children together for a day of sports, games and community spirit 🏓⚽️🥅

It's a day designed to bring families together, promote a healthy and active lifestyle, and create lasting memories and everyone attending (including adults) gets a free lunch.

If you'd like to come along, we are going to be running a free bus there, leaving from Commercial Road Bus Stop (by the Premier shop) in Byker at 9:15am and returning back to Byker after the event.

What does Newcastle mean to you?

If you're aged 25 or under and live, study or work in Newcastle, we'd love to hear your perspective in Newcastle Through Your Eyes, a poetry competition celebrating the people, places and experiences that make our city unique.

Whether your poem explores your community, a favourite spot, a personal memory or your hopes for Newcastle's future, this is your chance to share your voice and creativity.

🏆 Prizes include:
• A £100 Eldon Square Gift Card for the winning entry
• Additional prizes for shortlisted poets
• The opportunity to perform the winning poem at a special celebration event

We've had a very busy start to the summer holidays!

🌟 We've had 5 recruitment events across the city, promoting fostering and speaking to families across Newcastle
🌟 We had our Activity Day with climbing, archery, soft play and outdoor games for all ages

We're looking forward to an adventure to Lightwater Valley and more recruitment events to come.
