The Light Cavalry operate ahead of the main force, specialising in mounted and dismounted reconnaissance, surveillance, and security operations.

Using highly mobile vehicles, like the Jackal 2, they deploy ahead of the frontline to gather intelligence on enemy movements and terrain.

Our paired regular partners The Light Dragoons have converted to the latest version of Jackal, the Jackal 3. They will be using the new vehicle on operations and exercises supported by the Queen's Own Yeomanry.

Later this year the regiment will be deploying to Denmark with 19th Light Brigade Our build up training is almost complete after a series of mounted and dismounted exercises across the North of England building on the success of last year's exercise in Germany.

Looking For a New Challenge?

United Kingdom Special Forces Reserve accept applications from male and female applicants with no previous military service and from ex regular and reserve personnel.
