💙 Learning Disability Awareness Week 2026 💙
As tutors, trainers, and assessors, we recognise the vital role education plays in creating a more inclusive and understanding society.
This Learning Disability Awareness Week, we are encouraging our learners to reflect on the importance of seeing the person, not the disability. Through education and professional development, we can help future care professionals build the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to support people with learning disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives.
Every learner we teach has the opportunity to make a real difference—whether that is by promoting choice and independence, adapting communication to meet individual needs, challenging discrimination, or advocating for equality and inclusion.
By embedding person-centred values into our training, we are helping to develop a workforce that understands, respects, and celebrates diversity.
Together, we can break down barriers, challenge misconceptions, and ensure that people with learning disabilities are valued, heard, and empowered to achieve their goals.
