🚐✨ Meet our newest member of the Lemington Riverside family… LEMI-BUS! ✨🚐

We’re delighted to introduce our fantastic new school minibus, which now has an official name chosen by our pupils!

Every child had the opportunity to suggest a name before our School Council carefully considered all the brilliant ideas and voted for their favourite. The winning name was “Lemi-Bus”, suggested by Yasmine from Year 3. Congratulations, Yasmine! 🎉

The bus will soon proudly display its name in the window so everyone knows who they’re travelling with.

For those of a certain era it reminds me of a certain Vengaboys anthem so we might need to create a song to go with it...

A huge thank you to all of our children for their creativity and enthusiasm. We can’t wait for all the exciting trips, sporting events and learning adventures that Lemi-Bus will take our pupils on in the months and years ahead.

🔥 Attendance Streak Challenge – Week 1 update 🔥

What an amazing start! 🎉

We're delighted to share that 158 children have successfully completed the first part of our Attendance Streak Challenge and are still in the running for our fantastic prize draw! 🌟

Keep the streak alive by being in school, on time, every day next week. Just five more days to go! 💪

Good luck to everyone still taking part – we can't wait to see who our 12 lucky winners will be, remember the prize is a day out to the Metro Centre with a visit to choose a book of your choice from Waterstones followed by a McDonalds lunch! 📚🍔🚌

Over the past few months we've been making more improvements to the built environment at Lemington Riverside.

Much of the work has been focused on making our school more accessible for everybody - we have worked alongside Newcastle City Council to create two brand new ramp accesses to our dinner hall and also from our Early Years building into the Early Years garden.

We have carefully planned the works so that the brickwork and metal railings match the existing style of our beautiful school building.

The final touch was acting some colour to the old wooden extension with a colourful piece of art work and planting some wild flowers to bring colour and life!

REMINDER: Online safety information session for parents/carers.

Parents/carers are invited to come and join us in school on Friday 19 June, 9:15-10am for a presentation about how you can keep your child safe when online.

Simply sign in at the main office - we'll also have the biscuits ready!

Yesterday our Year 1 children enjoyed a fantastic day out in Northumberland, visiting Alnwick Gardens and Lilidorei.

Following England's impressive 4-2 win over Croatia last night, we had a special punctuality challenge at Lemington Riverside this morning.

Out of 200 children who were in school, on time for 9 today (Thursday 18 June) - well done to Charlotte Y from Year 6 who was drawn out as our England World Cup Champion Day winner!

Charlotte wins a brand new England football shirt!

Congratulations Charlotte!

We will repeat our England World Cup Champion Day next Wednesday 24 June, the day after England play their next game against Ghana!

CHAMPION DAY: ENGLAND SPECIAL!

England begin their World Cup campaign tonight against Croatia and we know lots of people will be watching!

If you are in school, on time for 9am tomorrow morning (Thursday 18 June) you will be entered in to a prize draw to win an England football shirt!

A huge well done to our Year 5 debating team who won their debate in the Newcastle Civic Centre debating chamber this morning!
