🌍🇫🇷 THE JEWEL IN THE CROWN OF THE LEMINGTON RIVERSIDE EXPERIENCE:

What an incredible week in Newcastle’s twin city of Nancy!

Our Year 6 children enjoyed an unforgettable international visit to France through funding from the Turing Scheme.

From meeting our French partner school, Boudonville Primary, and taking part in bilingual workshops at the University of Lorraine, to exploring Nancy’s beautiful landmarks and even visiting a traditional chocolatier, the trip was packed with amazing experiences.

Most importantly, our children developed confidence, independence, teamwork and language skills while building friendships with children from another country.

A huge thank you to our partners in Nancy, International Newcastle and Newcastle City Council for supporting this fantastic opportunity for our pupils.

FRANCE 2026: DAY 1 UPDATE

Good evening from Nancy, France where year 6 have arrived safely after a long day of travelling!

If you are a year 6 parent/carer of a child on the residential and are not yet part of our WhatsApp update group, please let the school office know and we will happily get you added.

FRANCE 2026!

It's almost time!

Our second Year 6 residential to France takes place next week!

We depart on Monday 18th May at 6:15am from school and return for 8pm on Friday 22nd May.

It's an incredible adventure as we take the train to London, Eurostar to Paris and then on to the city of Nancy in eastern France. Nancy is Newcastle's twin city and we also also have a partner primary school there, Boudonville, where we will spend time throughout the week.

The children also spend time exploring the city including visits to museums, the city hall for a civic welcome, a chocolate factory and a round of crazy golf versus the French school!

It's an amazing opportunity for our children to visit a foreign country - the jewel in the crown of all of the trips and visits that form our Lemington Riverside Experience!

It's also fully funded by the Turing Scheme, which means there is no cost to any of our families meaning a fully inclusive visit for every Year 6 child that wants to attend.

We can confirm that the winner of the NUFC tickets was Jo Phillips from Newcastle College and a Year 3 child from Bridgewater Primary School.

Thank you to everybody who bought tickets for this draw, all money raised has gone to the West End Children's Community Charity which supports children in Lemington Riverside and across the west of Newcastle!

Our Nursery chefs have been incredibly busy every Wednesday afternoon, rolling up their sleeves and creating some wonderful culinary delights!

From mixing and measuring to decorating and tasting, the children have shown fantastic enthusiasm, creativity and teamwork in every session. These experiences are not only lots of fun, but also help to develop important skills such as communication, confidence, independence and following instructions.

We are so proud of how engaged and excited the children have been each week, and it has been lovely to see their confidence grow in the kitchen. Of course, there have also been plenty of delicious treats enjoyed along the way too!

A huge well done to all of our Nursery chefs — we can’t wait to see what tasty creations you make next!

What a week it has been for our incredible Year 6 children! 🌟

This week they completed their SATs with maturity, resilience and a truly fantastic attitude from start to finish. We could not be prouder of the way they have approached every challenge — supporting one another, staying positive and giving their absolute best every single day.

These tests are only a small snapshot of who they are, but what has really shone through is their character, determination and teamwork. They have been an absolute credit to themselves, their families and our school. ❤️

Today, we celebrated their hard work with a well-deserved McDonald’s lunch treat 🍟🍔 — and there were plenty of smiles all round!

Well done Year 6 — you are amazing, and we are so proud of every single one of you! 👏
