Morrisons offers a free "Kellogg's Breakfast" in all of their UK cafés this half term holiday.

What is included?

• Cereal: A bowl of Kellogg's Corn Flakes or Rice Krispies.
• Milk: A choice of dairy or soya/non-dairy milk.
• Fruit: A free portion of fresh fruit (an apple, banana, or orange).

Key Details:

• Who Can Get It: Open to everyone—both children and adults can claim it for free.
• Cost: Completely free; no purchase is required.
• Availability: Offered across all 343 Morrisons cafés nationwide during school holidays and half terms.
• How to Claim: Simply visit a Morrisons Café during a school holiday and ask for a "Kellogg's Breakfast".

Halloween party tickets are now on sale from the school office, £2 per ticket.

Please note the Halloween parties are at the following times:

- Monday 19th October (4:30-6pm) - Nursery, Reception, Year 1, Year.
- Tuesday 20th October (4:30-6pm) - Years 3, 4, 5, 6.

The ticket price includes a hot snack and drinks.

Children should be dropped off at the main entrance on Sugley Street.

Congratulations to Maisie from Year 6 who has won two tickets for Newcastle United versus Aston Villa on Saturday!

The draw was made live in assembly on Friday and the tickets are courtesy of Newcastle United Foundation.

ATTENDANCE STREAK CHALLENGE!

We are delighted to confirm we have a new attendance streak challenge starting next week.

Here's how it works:

Start date: Monday 12 October
End date: Friday 23 October

- Be in school every day, on time.
- If you attend every day, on time during the challenge you are entered into a prize draw!

THE PRIZE: In our Lemington Heroes Assembly on Friday 23 October, 15 children will be selected in a prize draw to visit Waterstones at the Metro Centre to choose a brand new book of their choice, followed by a McDonalds lunch.

🎅 Project Santa 2026 – Christmas Support for Families at Lemington Riverside

We are once again working with Project Santa to support families who may be experiencing significant financial hardship this Christmas.

Funding is more limited this year, so support will be prioritised for families in greatest need.

If you feel your family would genuinely benefit from support with Christmas presents and/or a food parcel, please read the criteria and complete the form below.

LEMINGTON RIVERSIDE BOOK FAIR:

We are pleased to confirm that our popular book fair returns this week.

The book fair has a range of books to buy for children of all ages and interests.

The book fair will be open in the main hall at school between 3:30-3:45pm every evening between Wednesday 7 October and Tuesday 13 October.

Every purchase made also gives school credit to buy new books for our classrooms. Payment can be made in cash or by card.

Our small electricals recycle bin is now in school and located next to the caretaker's house.

Feel free to drop off any small electricals using the guide - please note the recycling bin will only be with us for a short amount of time!

Important update: Communication channels

From Friday 23rd October 2026 we will no longer be using Facebook to communicate news and updates from Lemington Riverside.

Instead, all communication will come through our internal apps (See Saw and Greenhouse Schools) and via our school website.

If you are a current parent/carer, we would advise you download SeeSaw and Greenhouse Schools before the 23rd October so that you continue to receive regular updates from school. If you need a new SeeSaw log-in

HALLOWEEN PARTIES 2026:

We are pleased to confirm that we will be having two Halloween parties in school in the final week of the half term.

- Nursery, Reception, Years 1 and 2: Monday 19th October, 4:30-6pm.
- Years 3, 4, 5 and 6: Tuesday 20th October, 4:30-6pm.

Tickets are priced at £2 per child and will include a hot snack and other refreshments.

Tickets will be on sale from the school office from Monday 12th October.
