NEIGH TO 60 🐎 | Safer speeds for Warren Hill

Concerns have been raised about horses being startled and riders put at risk by traffic on Moulton Road at Warren Hill.

I’m asking Suffolk County Council to look seriously at a safer speed limit through this important training area.

Please share - particularly with Newmarket’s racing community.
Let’s see if we can get this done.

Studlands PlayZone update.

I’ve asked the council to come down on Tuesday and speak to residents face to face at the PlayZone site next to the Social Club.

I’m pushing for an evening time, around 6 or 6:30, so working residents have a fair chance to attend. I’ll confirm the exact time on Monday.

My position is simple: this has to work for Studlands. Local children and young people need free and easy access, and residents need clear answers about access, booking, safety, security and management.

Studlands PlayZone update

I know many residents are angry and frustrated about how this has been handled, and I understand why.

This is a local facility in the heart of Studlands, and residents deserve to be listened to properly. People need clear answers about access, booking, free use, safety, security and how the site will be managed.

Following residents’ concerns, West Suffolk Council has agreed to come down and speak to residents face to face at the Studlands PlayZone site.

A meeting is being arranged for Tuesday 30 June.

I am currently asking for an evening time so that more residents, especially those who are working during the day, have a fair chance to attend.

I will confirm the exact time as soon as possible on Monday.

My position is simple: this facility has to work for Studlands, and local children and young people must not feel locked out of it.

I know many of you are concerned about the missing fencing by Nimbus Way and the Guarded Orchard in Studlands.

I have raised this as a matter of urgency with Suffolk County Council.

Nothing should take priority over the safety of our children. I’m sure we can all agree on that.

I will keep the pressure on until this is fixed.

In the meantime, please be vigilant if your youngsters are playing in the area.

I’ll keep you all posted.

This is what sustained pressure looks like. We’ve been pushing for a recycling centre in Newmarket for some time, and we’re starting to see movement. Not there yet but we are getting closer.
