An amber Heat Health Alert is effect from 9am Tuesday 11 August until 9pm Friday 14 August 2026.

The Isle of Wight Council has activated the Severe Weather Protocol (SWEP) for rough sleepers.

Additional support in place for rough sleepers includes

welfare checks throughout the alert period
access to drinking water, sun cream and suitable clothing
signposting to cool spaces during daytime hours
if there is a specific risk to a person accommodation may be considered
If you are worried about someone sleeping rough during the hot weather, please report your concern through StreetLink so support can be offered.

Due to the Red Severe Heat Health Warning in place across much of our region, for Wednesday, 24/06/2026, we are only conducting telephone-based appointments.
There will be no drop in appointments available. Normal services will return Thursday, 25/06/2026.
