Our Year 6 children took part in a brilliant and incredibly important life skills session with the team from Newport Isle of Wight Fire Station, learning how to perform CPR! πŸ‘πŸ«€

Learning these potentially life-saving skills is such a valuable experience for our children in their final year at Nine Acres. Knowing how to respond in an emergency could one day make a real difference! ⭐️

A huge thank you to the team at Newport Fire Station for sharing their knowledge and helping our children develop these essential skills. ❀️

🌿πŸ”₯ Year 4’s Last Forest School Session! πŸ”₯🌿

What a lovely way to round off our Forest School adventures! πŸŒ³πŸƒ

Today, Year 4 explored the fascinating fire triangle, learning about the three things a fire needs to burn: heat, fuel and oxygen. πŸ”ΊπŸ”₯ We also spotted the beautiful, shimmery effect around the flame and wondered about the science behind what we could see. ✨

Of course, no Forest School fire session would be complete without the best bit… toasting marshmallows! πŸ‘πŸ˜‹

✨ On Friday, we were delighted to welcome two fantastic literary visitors to Key Stage 2, thanks to the generosity of the Isle of Wight Literary Festival and its sponsors. πŸ’š

✍️ In the morning, bestselling author Maz Evans entertained and inspired pupils in Years 4 to 6, sharing her writing journey so far and explaining how real-life experiences provide inspiration for her much-loved novels.

🎨 In the afternoon, Isle of Wight author and illustrator Neal Layton brought his stories to life with hilarious sound effects and demonstrated his phenomenal drawing skills while leading a creativity workshop for Year 3 pupils. πŸ–οΈπŸ“–

🌟 It was a truly inspiring day that encouraged imagination, creativity and a love of reading and writing. We look forward to welcoming more authors and taking part in further literary events throughout the year!

⚽️ Another fantastic week of football at Nine Acres!

Once again, our children have done themselves proud, showing fantastic skill, determination and sportsmanship across our recent football fixtures! πŸ‘

Last week, we welcomed Ryde School to take on our U11 boys. It was a game full of talent, skill and effort, with the boys finishing the match with their heads held high. Well done, boys! πŸ’ͺ⚽️

Our U11 girls then took to the pitch against Greenmount Primary for their very first game. They got stuck in, showed great determination and represented Nine Acres brilliantly! 🌟

Today, the girls were back on the pitch against Newport Primary, where we saw them grow in both performance and confidence. It was wonderful to see their progress and enthusiasm shine through! πŸ’™

As always, it’s a pleasure to see so many spectators coming along to support our children, whether football is their favourite sport or they’re stepping onto the pitch for the very first time. Your encouragement means so much! πŸ‘πŸ™Œ

A huge well done to all our players for representing Nine Acres - we are incredibly proud of you all! πŸ’™βš½οΈ

Well done, Nine Acres! πŸŽ‰

🏺Year 5 Anglo-Saxon History Workshop! 🏺

Year 5 stepped back in time today as they recreated their very own Anglo-Saxon burial! ⚱️

The children became history detectives, carefully exploring artefacts to discover more about Anglo-Saxon burial traditions, what people were buried with and why these objects were so important. πŸ”πŸ›‘οΈ

A fantastic hands-on learning experience that brought history to life and sparked lots of curiosity, discussion and discovery! 🌟

Well done, Year 5! πŸ‘πŸ“š

🌍Nine Acres Cultural Day 2026! 🌍

As always, it was an absolute delight to see our children celebrating their own cultures with such pride and enthusiasm! ❀️🌎 Throughout the day, the children wore traditional and special clothing that reflected their heritage, culture and identity, creating a wonderful celebration of the diversity within our school community. πŸ‘˜πŸ§΅βœ¨

Each class chose a country to explore and discover more about, making the day a fantastic opportunity for learning and sharing. From tasting delicious foods 🍜🍞 and researching fascinating facts πŸ“šπŸŒ to creating colourful crafts πŸŽ¨βœ‚οΈ, the children embraced every activity with curiosity and excitement!

Cultural Day is always such an important and enriching experience, helping our children to appreciate different traditions, celebrate what makes us unique and recognise the many things that bring us together. 🌈🀝

🏰✨ A Fairytale History Adventure! ✨🏰

Year 1 had so much fun during their history workshop this week! 🌟

Inspired by the story of Sleeping Beauty, the children travelled back in time to discover what life was like in a castle. They loved getting hands-on with a range of fascinating artefacts, exploring costumes and playing with toys from the past. 🎭🧸

There was even time to have a go at playing some musical instruments! 🎢

What a wonderful way to bring history to life and spark our young learners’ imaginations! πŸ‘‘βœ¨

✨ Our First Young Carers Group! βœ¨πŸ‘»

Our group of children had a fantastic time at our very first Young Carers group! πŸ’›

We began by drawing around our hands and writing words that describe us as young carers, celebrating our unique qualities and the amazing things that make us who we are. 🌟🀝

We were also very lucky to welcome Miss Slade as our guest teacher! She shared her wonderful talent for creating plaster ghosts, inspired by famous ghost stories from the Isle of Wight. πŸ‘»πŸοΈ

Everyone had the chance to decorate their very own ghost, and they look absolutely amazing! 🎨✨ We loved seeing everyone’s creativity come to life.

A huge thank you to Miss Slade for sharing her skills with us and making our first session so special! πŸ’›
