Join one of our writing workshops in Newport Museum and Art Gallery (mezzanine), John Frost Square, this month and compose your own postcard to Newport.
Led by writer Tracey Rhys, the relaxed two-hour sessions are for anyone aged 18 and over who wants to explore how Newport has touched their lives by writing a short history of your life in the city, your memories and the places you love.
Postcards created during the workshops could feature in a public exhibition in the city centre (with your permission.)
No previous writing experienced is required. Just come to one of the four workshops:
Thursday 20 August - 10.30am to 12.30pm or 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
Thursday 28 August - 10:30am-12:30pm or 1:30pm - 3:30pm

Newport Cricket Club, in conjunction with the council, has announced a one-off match is taking place today between Newport and District Midweek League v Newport Big Smash League. It starts at 5.30pm in Spytty Boulevard, Newport International Sports Village.

We’ll also be consulting with schools when they return next month.
All the feedback, including from the in-person sessions held earlier in the summer, will be used to decide the priorities from the area.
Community and voluntary organisations will then be able to bid for funding to deliver new services and activities for Bettws.
