Due to the yellow weather warning for wind starting this evening, Belle Vue Park and Beechwood Park will remain closed tomorrow morning.

Our parks team will continue to monitor conditions throughout the day and will reopen the parks if it is safe to do so.

Two utilities companies will be carrying out work on Chepstow Road during the October half-term holiday.

Work has been scheduled for the holidays to minimise disruption at peak times.

Wales and West Utilities will be doing gas mains replacement work near the junction with Beechwood Road.

A three-way traffic signal control will be in place, and the junction of Chepstow Road and Kenilworth Road will be closed.
Also, Welsh Water will be repairing a water main at the junction with Springfield Drive.

A four-way traffic signal control will be in place here.

Traffic management will be in place at both sites from 8am on Saturday 24 October, until 5am on Sunday 1 November.

Both sets of traffic signals will be manually controlled during peak times to ease congestion and keep traffic flowing as much as possible.

Please allow extra time for your journey, and consider alternative routes where possible.

Council tax and business rates services will be unavailable from Friday and throughout the weekend while we complete essential system upgrades.

Online council tax accounts, direct debit setup and change of address services will be unavailable, and staff will be unable to access systems to answer enquiries.

Services are expected to resume on Monday morning, with some online services returning later on Monday. We apologise for any inconvenience.

⚠️ We have issued an Amber Wind Warning as Storm Austen approaches.

The storm is expected to bring a spell of very strong winds and heavy rain across southern areas of the UK late on Thursday and into Friday, with the greatest risk of disruption across southwest England. Gusts could reach 60-70mph in some places.
