Thank you Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce for a fantastic awards evening, amazing venue, delicious food, great atmosphere and a whooping £2800 raised through the auction for WightAID!

Congratulations to those who held the winning bids, we hope you enjoy your prizes and thank you for your kind support.

As announced on the evening, we are now on our mission to 'Grant a Million' by September 2027. If you would like to help us towards this target then please follow the QR code and make your donation to help create a long lasting difference within the Isle of Wight community.

Our July grant round saw more than £18,000 distributed to a further six community groups.

This months beneficiaries included Independent Arts, Ventnor Carnival Association, The Getaway Foundation, Two Generations CIC, Disabled Sailors Association and IOW DECA.

A very successful morning connecting the dots on how different groups can work together and support one another.

Our cheque this month was presented by Matt from NOSY Creative Agency.

Art for All – Creative Tuesdays 🖌️

A new programme of inclusive and relaxed art sessions for adults with learning disabilities.

The sessions are designed to be a friendly, welcoming space, where participants can meet new people, learn new skills and build confidence through creativity.

Every Tuesday, 10.30am–12pm
New Carnival, Union Road, Ryde

Free for participants and support workers

Starting Tuesday 6th October

We are very pleased to welcome Dale Howarth to our board of Trustees!

Dale moved to the Isle of Wight aged 11 and has become a well-known figure on the Island, working as a business advisor to many leading local businesses and serving as director of Ryde-based PC Consultants. He is also an Ambassador for the CPD Standards Office, championing high-quality, consistent Continuing Professional Development across industries.

For almost three decades, Dale's popular business seminars have brought together entrepreneurs, community groups and charities, offering fresh perspectives and practical lessons to support their success. In 2022, he brought TEDx to the Island, hosting 'If Not Now, When' at The Anthony Minghella Theatre, a celebration of bold ideas and community action.

Dale lives on the Island with his wife and two daughters, and is committed to supporting the individuals, charities and groups that help make the Isle of Wight a place like no other.

So, what’s next for WightAID? 💙

Today we officially launch our ‘donate a million campaign’ which means we need to raise £80,000 in the next 12 months to reach this target✨

There are many ways in which you can support WightAID, this can be through an annual, monthly, or one-off donation which can be set up through the below QR code or by visiting our website. Alternatively holding fundraisers and events is a great way to raise extra funds and publicity.

Today is our 10th Birthday!! 🎉🎉🎉

Ten years ago we launched WightAID and what an incredible journey we have been on since then. We have been honored to receive so much kindness and support from local people and businesses. Together, we have helped strengthen our Isle of Wight community, and it's been a pleasure to meet all the wonderful individuals who are behind these smaller charities bringing hope and positive change to so many.

Thank you to everyone who has played a part in making the last 10 years such a success, every donation received in monetary value or a service in kind has a huge impact in the difference that can be made.

A huge thank you to Little Fox Cake Studio for donating the most delicious and beautiful 10th anniversary cake to mark this special occasion. What a show stopper it was. 😍

👩‍🦽 Adult carers are FREE – please book a free carer ticket for each adult carer swimming.
👀 Non-swimming adults are required to stay poolside and do not require a ticket.

⚠️ Important: This is not a drop-off event. Children and young people remain the responsibility of their parent/carer at all times, including while in the pool.
