FF Pete Waddington has been at Morrisons Newquay running in aid of The Firefighters Charity.

Pete is running in full fire kit. He ran 30 miles yesterday and absolutely smashing today!

If you’re stopping by Morrisons please stop and show your support! This is an incredible achievement and deserves some words of encouragement!!!

We have already attended 2 fire incidents this morning alone, please be extra vigilant during this period unprecedented dry weather. 🔥

🚨🙏 In light of the good weather forecast and a hosepipe ban across Cornwall, we're asking our residents and visitors to be extra vigilant:

✅ Avoid barbecues or lighting fires of any kind, especially in or near areas that are already dry
✅ Always ensure that when discarding ci******es they are completely extinguished
✅ Pack a picnic or better still, grab a pasty from your local baker!

🧸🚨 **ATTENTION TEDDY OWNERS! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!** 🚨🧸

Right… we’re going to be honest.

**We’ve left this VERY late.** 😂

But our Open Day is coming up and we’re planning a **Teddy Tombola** — Our teddy cupboard is so empty at the moment we’ve got more firefighters than teddies!”! 🤦‍♂️😂

So we need **YOUR TEDDIES!** 🧸

If you’ve got any pre-loved teddy bears at home that have been sitting around gathering dust, looking for a new home and wondering why nobody plays with them anymore, we’d LOVE to give them a new job!

🧸 **We’re looking for clean, pre-loved teddies in good condition.**

📍 **Drop them off at Newquay Fire Station:**

🚒 Tregunnel Hill
📍 Newquay
📮 TR7 1QT

**If there’s nobody around when you arrive, don’t panic!** Just leave your teddies safely by the front door and we’ll collect them. 👍

Every teddy will help us make the tombola a success, and **ALL MONIES RAISED WILL GO TO THE FIRE FIGHTERS CHARITY**, supporting the fire service community. ❤️

So please have a rummage!

Under the bed.
In the loft.
At the back of the cupboard.
That box you haven’t opened since 1994. 😂

**We’ll take them!**

The more teddies we can collect, the bigger and better the tombola will be. 🧸🧸🧸

If you can spare a teddy (or ten 😜), please drop them into us — and **PLEASE SHARE THIS POST** so we can spread the word.

Come on Newquay… **let’s see how many teddies we can rescue!** 🚒🧸❤️

**Thank you!**

🚨Please be mindful when parking in and around Newquay🚨

As many know the roads around Newquay are tight enough as it is, we know sometimes space can be limited, especially as more people arrive to our town, but please leave enough room for a Fire Appliance to get past.

Inconsiderate parking can put lives at risk, and often impacts on our response times.

Fortunately we weren't responding to an emergency this time.

MISSING | We are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of a 29-year-old missing woman who was last seen in Cornwall.

Holly Collinson, 29, was reported missing by her family in Leicestershire on Friday 10 April.

Enquiries revealed that prior to being reported missing, Holly had travelled to Cornwall – specifically the Newquay area.

Holly was last seen leaving Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro on 31 March at 10.10am.

She is described as a white female, of slim built, 5ft 7ins in height and with blue eyes.

Previously, Holly had long black/pink/red/plum coloured dreadlocks.

However, last time she was seen she was wearing a black coat, black trousers, a short sleeve black Adidas shirt, and had straight dark hair with the upper half of the hair plum to red in colour and darker on the bottom half which was below shoulder length.

Holly has links to Bude, Newquay and Truro.

Anybody who has seen Holly or knows of her whereabouts is asked to call 999 quoting log 733 of 1 May.

*ATTENTION*

In recent weeks we have received several calls direct to the fire station to report of potential incidents and emergencies.

Please remember, always call 999 in an emergency.
It’s the quickest, safest, and most reliable way to get help from services like Cornwall Fire & Rescue.

When you call 999, your call goes straight to the emergency control center. They can:

Dispatch the nearest available crews.
Send multiple appliances if needed.
Coordinate with police and ambulance at the same time.

If you ring a station directly, there may be no one there to answer and in an emergency every second counts.

Please join us in welcoming our new fire investigation dog Smokey!!!

He may seem like an ordinary pet dog, but his exceptional abilities make him invaluable in identifying substances that can ignite fires.

Specially trained to detect various ignitable substances, our four-legged friends play a crucial role in criminal investigations, helping to determine if a fire was deliberately started.
