A picture of our Newry activists on Saturday standing up against violence against women!
November 25th marked the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against women, and as domestic abuse cases have skyrocketed in a connection to lockdown, it is as important as ever to highlight the crisis of gender-based violence. Since the first lockdown, 11 women have been murdered in Northern Ireland, which has been declared the most dangerous place in Europe for women.
We reject the ineffective liberal feminism, which seeks to feminise the elite classes of society rather than tear down class divisions altogether.
We fight for an end to all forms of oppression, meaning we also reject discrimination and oppression on racial or other bases, which are all fuelled by the capitalist status-quo. When injustice, inequality and oppression are bred within a system, that system must go!
