☀️ What is a Solar Skirt & Why should you install one? ☀️

Another fantastic solar installation completed recently in Torquay, featuring a sleek solar skirt system to give the array a cleaner, more professional finish.

A solar skirt is the black trim fitted around the edges of your solar panel array. While it certainly improves the appearance of the installation, it also offers several practical benefits that many homeowners don’t realise.

✅ Improved Appearance
A solar skirt hides the mounting rails, wiring and gaps beneath the panels, creating a seamless, premium-looking installation that blends beautifully with your roof.

✅ Bird Protection
The skirt helps reduce access beneath the solar panels, discouraging birds from nesting underneath and preventing the mess, noise and potential damage that can come with it.

✅ Protection from Debris
Leaves, twigs and other debris are less likely to collect beneath the panels, helping to keep the system cleaner and reducing maintenance requirements.

✅ Enhanced Kerb Appeal
A well-finished solar installation can improve the overall appearance of your property and help maintain its value.

✅ Long-Term Roof Protection
By reducing the build-up of nesting materials and debris beneath the array, a solar skirt can help protect your roof and the solar system over time.

Great progress on this commercial solar installation. ⚡

We’ve recently installed this external enclosure which will house 3 × 125kW inverters, supporting the 871 solar panels now installed on the roof of this commercial unit.

Once commissioned, this 400.66kW solar PV system will generate a significant amount of clean, renewable energy for the site while reducing long-term electricity costs.

The system infrastructure is now taking shape and we’re looking forward to bringing everything online soon.

We’ve been out recently visiting some of our commercial clients including Marsland Nash Associates to carry out solar panel surveys and roof inspections. ☀️🚁

By using drones for these checks, we can quickly assess the condition of the solar panels, look for any damage, see if cleaning is needed, and even inspect gutters for blockages all without the need for ladders, scaffolding or scissor lifts. This not only keeps costs down, but also means we can be on and off site with no disruption to the running of the business.

Regular checks like these help ensure everything is working as it should and that our clients get the most from their solar panels.
