102 REME Recruiting 102 REME is an Engineering Army Reserve unit based in North England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. We are the Northern Engineers! We are a family!

We are part of the Army Reserve- The part time Army, training and serving our country around our civilian employment and family life! We can volunteer to deploy on operations and assist with home defence and resilience. We provide engineering capability and service support to our fellow Army Reserve Units and the Regular Army. We are paid to train, enhancing both our Engineering skills and skills

for life such as leadership and teamwork- things that help us excel in our everyday lives! We are a close team who have each others back, support each other and encourage each other to be the best we can be! We train all over Northern Ireland, Scotland and the North of England. 🛠️ Welcome to 102 REME! 🙌

A warm welcome to our newest members of the 102 REME family.

We’re delighted to welcome ex REME Regular Soldier WO1 Paul Clark, who has re-joined as Platoon Commander. Paul lives in Catterick and originally served as a Vehicle Mechanic (VM).

We also welcome Cpl Leighton, who has also transferred to the Reserve from the Regular Army. A Class 1 VM, Cpl Leighton lives in Consett, is married with two children.

Finally, a big welcome to Cfn Jones, who has joined the Army Reserve as an Armourer. Based in Middlesbrough, Cfn Jones is currently studying Public Services at Teesside University full-time.

It’s great to have you all with us, and we look forward to seeing you get stuck in! 💪🔧

A huge welcome to Thomas London a Reserve Potential Officer candidate who attested into 124 Coy this week!

Thomas is a civil servant in the department health from Leeds will be competing his basic training and then going on to officer selection.

From learning military skills and leadership, to building confidence, completing training, meeting new people and gradually taking on greater responsibility, there will be plenty of challenges — and plenty of opportunities to grow.

CDRILS, MGB, TRF - who doesn’t like an acronym? But what about A2EG? ⬇️

A2EG is the: Access to (2) Education Grant. The grant currently offers up to £2000 per year to eligible Army Reservists who are:

✅ Serving with operational liability (does not include UOTC),
✅ Engaged in full-time study for a nationally recognised qualification in Further or Higher Education,
✅ Able to demonstrate a Defence justification for their chosen course, STEM, Languages, Politics etc,
✅ Phase 1 Soldier/Officer Trained.

If this is you, imagine how this could give you the breathing space to immerse yourself into your Reserve Career and relieve some financial pressures whilst studying. If this isn’t you, PLEASE tell someone about it!

❗️NB ❗️ This A2EG is not available to current members of the University Officer Training Corps.
