๐Ÿ‘‚ Weโ€™re listening to our community.

You may have noticed an increased police presence across Newton Aycliffe this weekend. This follows reports from residents regarding the dangerous use of illegal electric and modified motorcycles in the area.

In response, the neighbourhood policing team have conducted dedicated patrols supported by Durham Roads & Armed Policing motorcycle unit, Durham Special Constabulary, and drone officers. Throughout the weekend, officers have engaged directly with the community, receiving positive feedback about the increased visibility and proactive approach.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Sergeant Crawford said: โ€œWe will continue to take action against those riding in a dangerous and anti-social manner. These vehicles are often uninsured and frequently used by individuals without a valid licence, posing a serious risk to public safety.โ€

๐Ÿ“ฒ If you have information about off-road bike activity or where these vehicles are being stored, please report it via 101 or on our website over live chat.

You can also provide information anonymously through Crimestoppers: https://crimestoppers-uk.org/
