How quickly has the grass grown in the little paddock? A few days of heavy rain after warm weather has returned this to its flower and herb meadow status. Badgers are almost burrowing through the long grass. 😄🦡

First baby pine marten recorded at the feeding platform last night - very noisy, was heard before being seen, which adequately explains why mum brings only one kit out at a time when they're first taken foraging. 😄

A couple of days of rain soon washed away the dust and brought more flowers out... We are now getting to the blues and yellows with the first of the shades of pink peeking through the greenery. The giant oxeye daisies have started to bloom, willows are casting their furry seeds like snowfall along the drive, the foxgloves are flowering and the yellow flag iris are opening around the ponds. There are buttercups aplenty, tiny blue speedwell and an abundance of wild forget-me-nots. Hoping to see more of the pinks and purples soon.

Frequent visits from the Jays suggest they must be breeding nearby. They are much quieter this time of year so we see them more than hear them.

Can anyone identify the little brown bird in this trailcam clip? I thought it was a baby Dunnock but now not so sure as it appears to have a stripe above its eye. Filmed on trail camera, early morning in Dumfries & Galloway.

Caramel cat comes for protection from the Swallows who keep dive-bombing her for being near the hay shelter. Cats are often attacked by nesting Swallows.
