It was a pleasure to visit Real Wood Studios on Thursday last week and to get a tour of facilities and workshops. As one of our subscribers and a CIC, they connect with a wide range of organisations across the region. Using sustainably sourced local wood they create the most beautiful bespoke pieces which can be viewed in their showroom. The process of production from initial sourcing, to drying/seasoning and then into the workshop is truly incredible and increasingly RealWood Studios is connecting with schools and community groups to enable young people to see this in action, offering a glimpse into this potential career path. The plans for RealWood Studios are exciting, with the aim of expanding and improving the original ageing structures to accommodate a modern, fit for purpose community based project. This exciting project will include even more opportunities for young people to learn about this craft along with a designated wellbeing space. Exciting times
