Details of eligibility are outlined in the advertisment below, but here's more about the actual role of a Town & Community Councillor ☺️

⭐️ Representing the Community: Councillors act as representatives of their community, ensuring local concerns and interests are heard and addressed.

⭐️ Supporting local events and Groups: Councillors can provide support to local events and community groups, helping to create a vibrant and active community. This includes physical and financial support to all walks of diverse groups within our community.

⭐️Promoting Community Engagement: Councillors hold monthly public meetings. This aims to foster a sense of involvement in local governance and an understanding of decisions made about your local community.

⭐️ Ensuring Transparency and Accountability: Councillors are responsible for ensuring that the Council operates transparently, adhering to good governance principles and ethical standards.

⭐️ Improving Local Services: By working closely with the County Council, Councillors can advocate for the delivery of essential services that enhance the quality of life for residents.

⭐️ Building Partnerships: Councillors work with organisations and bodies to deliver services and support, fostering collaboration and cooperation within the community.

If you think the role is for you and think you can offer a fresh, vibrant, inclusive skill set to our Council, come and join us! We have many up coming community based projects and have many annual events that bring our town together in celebration. Gareth is a firm favourite to our Neyland residents, always on hand offering a friendly smile and showing a genuine care for his patients ☺️

Gareth said: “These incredible local practices work tirelessly to keep our community healthy. Whether it's a faster diagnosis, a more comfortable procedure, or better care for someone you love, every pound raised brings us closer to that goal.

“Please consider sponsoring me — no matter how big or small, every contribution counts and is greatly appreciated!”

At NTC, we have received many complaints from our residents regarding dangerous speeding throughout Neyland. The main area's of concern from our residents has been The Promenade, High Street and Honeyborough Road leading on to Kensington Road.

Very recently, an increasing number of accidents have occurred on the sharp corner leading on to Kensington Road, causing damage to cars, pedestrian pathways and numerous residential properties. These accidents have been caused by speeds way excessive of the 20 mph speed limit and vehicles losing control.

NTC are campaigning heavily to PCC to take note of the recurring dangers in this area and are urging permanent traffic calming measures to be implemented before an accident turns catastrophic. PCC have taken note and are working to gather data to assist in their decision making.

In the meantime, we are very pleased to see PCSO Leanne gathering important data and being a visible reminder to vehicle drivers to lower their speed and stick within the 20 mph speed limits.

All residents are urged to call 101 to report any incidents of speeding, no matter the time of day or night. Whilst an officer attending the scene may not be possible, and let's be honest, a bit fruitless if the offending vehicles have already sped away, it does however mean a buildup of the data of reports and will highlight the need for traffic calming implementations throughout our town. The more reports made means that the data reflects the reality, therefore leading to more assistance with the issues.

Thank you, PCSO Leanne, for helping to gather data and for being a visible reminder that sticking within the speed limit is a legal, and important, responsibility for all drivers :)

Milford Haven and Neyland Police

PCSO Leanne has been out in Neyland conducting speed checks after several complaints received from residents regarding the speed of vehicles.

Today, Cllr. Peter Hay and I had the pleasure of delivering a new Die Cutting Machine to the lovely Monday Card Club 😊

The Club applied to Neyland Town Council through our Community Enhancement Grant, as their current machine was getting too worn out to be fit for purpose, but the ladies being a small group struggled to gather the funds to replace the machine...and that is exactly what our grant is here for :)

The Club runs every Monday at 10.30am in Bethesda Chapel, where you are guaranteed to be welcomed with friendly, smiling faces, a hot brew and of course, some incredibly unique and fun crafting 🩷Some of these ladies have years of experience and knowledge and are always looking for new members to join their club.

Mrs. Biesley, who applied for the grant, told us that a new cutting machine means they can now expand their group to new members as their equipment is once again fit for purpose. We are delighted to help and can't wait to see the wonderful designs that can once again be brough to life 😊

If you would like to apply for a small grant through our Community Enhancement Committee, pop an email over to [email protected]

No request is too small or too obscure for our Committee to consider ☺️
