Wild Touch

Wild Touch Our primary function is to rescue and rehabilitate sick, injured and orphaned wildlife and exotics.

Wildlife Rehabilitation

Who we are
Formed out of necessity in 2014 when several local wildlife rescues closed, Wild Touch wildlife rescue is a small, experienced rescue service run from our own home in Norfolk rescuing and rehabilitating wild and exotic animals. We are dedicated to providing the best possible care for any sick, injured and orphaned wildlife that comes into our care, regardless of

species, whether that means caring for it ourselves or transferring it on to another facility. We work closely with a network of vets, specialist keepers and rehabilitators around the country to ensure each animal receives the treatment it requires. Our Ethics
It is essential that every animal that comes into our hands is given the highest quality care possible. If we do not have the correct facilities to cater for that species or individual properly then it will be transferred to somewhere that does. Wildlife rehabilitation is about the welfare of the individual animal and, successful or not, usually has little bearing on the rest of its species. Therefore every animal receives the same high standard of care, regardless of population or status. Common and “pest” species such as pigeons and corvids are treated in the same way as the rarer ones. Our Aims
It is always our ultimate aim to return a wild animal to the wild. This release process is usually a long, complex procedure and must be done in exactly the right way, otherwise all the previous work gone into treating the animal is wasted. Again, if we do not have the appropriate conditions to do this properly, the animal will be passed on to somewhere that does. If the animal is not able to be released we must assess its future very carefully. We do not have a "no kill policy" as we do not believe it is always appropriate for wildlife. Some disabled animals may adapt very well to a life in captivity, and if this is the case then we will find a suitable home for them. Many however do not, and in these cases it is more humane for the animal to be euthanised. Wildlife Encounters
Meet nature closer than you ever expected! We offer hands on, educational animal encounters with a variety of native and exotic wildlife for schools, clubs, businesses, residential homes, parties and other groups. Our standard, 2 hour encounter brings you into close contact with a selection of native wildlife and exotic reptiles, and touches on many of the subjects covered in the national curriculum, however we also offer a range of experiences focused on particular aspects of the natural world. If you would like us to focus on a topic not listed below just give us a call and we can customise our display to fit with your project. Prices for our 2 hour encounters are:
Groups under 20 - £70
Groups 20 – 60 - £3.50 per head
Groups over 60 - £200
plus travel expenses

May 2026 100 Club Draw!!
Please note that the fledgling blue t**s shown in this video are not being kept in captivity and will be released when they are ready. They are shown in this video to reflect our intake this time of year (it’s baby bird season!) and the kind of work the 100 club funds.

The bottom two cages, however, are captive pet birds and will not be released into the wild, nor are they funded by 100 club members; they are in this video purely for entertainment purposes only.

🍏 THANK YOU Tesco Stalham Community Page 🍏
We want to say a massive thank you to the wonderful team at Tesco Stalham for their incredibly kind donation of fresh apples! Our residents have been absolutely loving them.

As a registered charity (Charity No. 1186877), we look after many different animals, including muntjac deer and grey squirrels. Because the deer and grey squirrel are invasive non-native species, we are legally required to hold them under a special licence. This means they can never be released back into the wild. Providing variety in their diet is a key part of the lifelong care and enrichment we give our permanent residents. Donations like this from our community help us provide these animals with the best possible lifelong care and enrichment!

Thank you for supporting your local wildlife rescue! 🦔🦉🌳

Wild Touch would like to express a HUGE thank you to The Ferry Inn Horning!

For the last couple of months, staff in the kitchens have been saving surplus meat and fish and donating it to us here at Wild Touch. Sadly some degree of food waste is inevitable in hospitality, but that food doesn't have to go to landfill. There's always a home for it here at Wild Touch to help feed the animals and keep our food bills low.

To extend our thanks, we'll be taking a selection of the animals to the Ferry to meet the customers next Sunday between 2 and 4pm.

Come along!

Big thanks to Michael, Aron and all the staff at the Ferry Inn for their continued support!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we have been chosen as one of the supported charities for Stalham High School’s Charities Week 2026! 🐾
It is a huge honour to be nominated by the students themselves. Knowing that the next generation of our local community is passionate about protecting Norfolk’s wildlife means the world to our team of volunteers.
We’re joining the amazing Star Throwers and East Anglia's Children's Hospices - EACH for a week of fantastic events, including a book tombola, Mario Kart heats, and the legendary Colour Run! 🏎️🌈

A Heartfelt Thank You to Walsham Grange Care Home! 🦉🦎🧺
We had an absolutely wonderful time visiting our friends at Walsham Grange Care Home for Zoo Lovers Day! Our animal ambassadors loved meeting everyone, and it was a joy to see so many smiles as people got up close with our resident animal ambassadors such as owls, snakes, kookaburra and lizard.
But the fun didn't stop there! We want to give a massive shout-out to the Walsham Grange team for their incredible support of our charity. Not only did their booking help fund the frontline rescue work we do every day for Norfolk's wildlife, but they also surprised us with a very generous donation of linens!
Why linens matter:
For a wildlife rescue, towels, blankets, pillowcases, duvet covers and sheets are absolute essentials. We use them every single day to:
Keep orphaned baby animals warm and snug.
Provide soft, safe bedding for injured animals in our hospital wing.
Help our team handle rescues safely and comfortably.
We truly rely on the kindness of our local community to keep our doors open. Support like this—both through bookings and physical donations—means the world to us and the animals in our care. 🐾💚
Thank you again, Walsham Grange, for being such amazing supporters of local wildlife!
