We are super excited to welcome Bowjangles and their musical show Fiddlesticks to the library on 26th September. There will be two shows for children aged 5-9 (but little ones are welcome too).

It is not too late to register for the Summer Reading Challenge as it runs until 12th September 2026. Little ones under 5 can also register for the challenge.

Friends Summer Writing Competition!
The deadline for this competition is fast approaching. If you would like to take part, please return your entry no later than 22nd August either to a member of staff in branch or by email us at [email protected]

The Friends invite children aged 4-16 to write a short story, article, or poem about ‘What I like best about living in North Walsham’.
Submissions will be divided into three age categories and the winners will be awarded a £20 book voucher.

Entry Requirements:
One entry per person
Word count: 200 words maximum
Include your name, age, and parent/carer’s contact details

It is always heartwarming for us to see generations come together at our Friday chess club. Two of our young regular players, both students at North Walsham High School, were playing chess when one of our customers, Graham, approached them to watch the game as he had not played in years. The boys invited Graham to play against them and they spent a lovely time playing and chatting together.
