Time to bring the horses out of this furnace and away from the horse flies into cool stables where they can chill out ( literally! ) and relax.

My boys πŸ¦„ πŸ΄πŸ¦„ have been out 24/7 for a week today (with checks three times a day obviously) which has done them the world of good, they are now asking me to bring them in. πŸ₯΅
Seamus is feeling much more comfortable and pain free but must have his Bute and Paracetamol twice a day or else he will be crippled againπŸ’”πŸ˜₯
Huge thanks once again to Geoff the farmer and his lovely wife Janet for the use of their field up the hill, we really do appreciate your help, we will be back up the hill to use your field in a week or so πŸ™

So - Poor old Seamus is so lame once again... Unfortunately, he was without his Bute Thursday due to my business trip to Scotland, sadly yesterday the poor old fella could literally hardly walk, Seamus has had recurring severe lameness for a very long time, due to his past, being over jumped and literally used as a machine!..(how I hate that term... A horse is NOT A MACHINE) The old fella is well into his twenties now so although his mind is still willing his legs are not, he is crippled with arthritis and also has numerous other issues through wear and tear.
He had his Bute and paracetamol yesterday am and pm, this morning he is much more comfortable, which means he cannot go a day now without his medication‼️
Orbit the wee fella is also on half a sachet of Bute every day due to his arthritis, mixed in with a little food
Phoenix obviously must have a feed as well otherwise he would feel left out!...🀭
Oh the joys of rescuing!! Tbh it's just so worth knowing that for ALL of my horses, past πŸ’” and present, I've made a difference... For that I'm thankful.

Ok, it was overcast this morning, BUT - now the sun is out!... off I go up the hill again πŸƒto take of there rain sheets and leave them with fly rugs on!! ... It's never ending...πŸ«£πŸ˜‚

So the boyos 🐴 are happily munching away on plenty of grass and making the most of being safely and securely turned out 24/7 for a few days.
There are so many buttercups everywhere this year, the horses don't eat them as they seem to know there toxic whilst alive and fresh but absolutely non toxic when dead and dried, hence if you find them in your hay, they are not going to cause any issues.... Just thought we'd share that piece of information... 😊

The weather is really muggy and sticky, but we have a nice little breeze which keeps away the flies ... Disgusting Bloomin things! 🫀
