The latest news from the Council ref caravans

Just been sent this email with regards to the 'caravans' or what's left of them!

“Good morning,

As some are aware the three Mobile Homes were burnt out in this past week or so.

As a follow up to this I attended the land again, I have been in contact with the owner to remove the three “shells”, debris from the field. This Request for action falls under Section 215 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990. Section 215 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 is a legal power used by local authorities in England and Wales to deal with land or buildings that are in a poor, untidy, or unsightly condition and are harming the appearance of the surrounding area.

Due to the legislation change we as a Council now have to allow a further 28 days for the debris to be removed. With this said, last week the owner was notified that the Council will serve Notice if this is not done.

🤔 Mmmmh! Let’s see what happens!

Well, I knew this would happen .... Did anyone hear or see anything last night?? !!READ ALL ABOUT IT HERE ⬇️

Road close updates from Phil on the Parish Council

Some info for the village page please.

The work on Thief Hall Lane and North Riding Rise has started and should be finished tomorrow, as indicated.

The mystery road closed signs on Crindle Carr Lane and Main Street were a mystery to the Council when I called them, in fact it took them 20 mins to find out that the closure signs were down to emergency Yorkshire Water works.

When I called Yorkshire Water they couldn't understand that the Council were unaware as they had given permission for potential closure at the Otterington Shorthorn from 6-11 May. The work, however, may only take 2 days.... There are also traffic lights near the Shepherd's Purse entrance due to pipeline works.

The man from YW seemed to think that people in the area had been 'notified', but I haven't found anyone yet.

Many thanks

Phil

Grown too many plants this year?

If you feel you’ve outgrown your greenhouse this spring & think that it may end up resembling something like this by the summer … don’t worry!

With those extra plants 🪴 why not donate them for our plant stall (Next Sunday’s fete 2-4pm at the Cricket Ground) for a second chance 👍🏻

Gill from Braeside, TLM (the lady with the little white JR dog) will happily nurse the plants 🌱 till next week or drop in to one of the other committee members-DM for details

Thank you 🙏 again for your support & kindness - without, we simply would not be able to put on events like this, bringing our community together ❤️
