We are shocked and sad at this crime which is of course distressing for the whole community. Our particular thoughts are with families and friends of the young man who has tragically lost his life and the teenager who is in a critical condition in hospital.

West Northants Council has advised that it is planning to introduce a booking system for all Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC).

This is being done without any consultation with residents and without running any pilots to test the system.

We have concerns about:

- potential increases to fly tipping
- creating obstacles for residents who may not have online access to make bookings.
- concerns about how long wait times might be for telephone bookings
- creating unnecessary obstacles and barriers to recycling

If you share our concerns, please sign our petition to ask the council to consult and carry out an appropriate pilot scheme before a full launch.

It’s a nonsense that up until now, 16 and 17 year olds have been able to pay taxes and served in the Armed Forces, but not have their say in elections.

Votes at 16 is a no-brainer - after all, it has worked hugely well in Scotland and Wales and ensured that young people are engaged in politics.

Liberal Democrats have campaigned for this reform for well over twenty years.

Now this Labour Government should go further and fix our broken electoral system altogether by finally introducing fair votes via proportional representation for General Elections.

GIG ANNOUNCEMENT!
LOCKETTEERS AND LOCAL BUSINESSES WE NEED YOUR HELP!

The community of adults with disabilities I work with in Northampton called JH & Oarpel are trying to raise money for a minivan, this would really improve their lives and mean we can have some sick days out so I’m doing a local Northampton headline show to help raise some money!

I’ve decided to put on a Billy Lockett gig with the full band at Charles Bradlaugh TCB on the 18th September, the venue has kindly waved their hire fee as a one off for us and 100% of the ticket money will go towards the minivan for the guys, I’ve held the 19th as well just incase we manage to sell out the 18th quickly. 🤞

We’re also gonna do a raffle on the night so any local businesses out there who would like to help donate a gift as prizes would be hugely appreciated, in return I’ll give you a shout out on all my marketing, press and radio I do about the show over the coming months. ♥️

I love these guys, they are genuinely good friends of mine and so I really hope with the power of the Locketteers we can make this happen for them. It would be so special if we can do this! 🤞
