So very sorry to read this after all the positive work by the community on Kings Heath. Thoughts with those affected by these tragic events - and support for police in their work to bring the perpetrators to justice and protect the local people

Detectives in Northampton are appealing for witnesses after three people were injured during an incident in the town last night (Friday, June 5).

Police were called to reports of multiple people being stabbed in East Oval, Kings Heath at around 8.35pm.

Two teenagers aged 17 and 18 were found with knife injuries and taken to hospital for treatment. A 20-year-old man is also believed to have sustained a minor injury in the incident but left the scene before police arrival.

The 18-year-old remains in hospital where he is receiving treatment for serious injuries.

We believe six offenders were involved in this incident, five wore dark coloured clothing and face coverings, the sixth wore a white t-shirt and shorts.

One suspect is believed to have left the scene in a small, dark coloured car and officers would like to speak to anyone who may have seen this leaving the area following the incident.

Detective Inspector Gary Collins from Northamptonshire Police, said: “I understand last night’s incident will cause a lot of concern in the local community and I want to reassure you we are working incredibly hard to find those involved and help bring them to justice.

“We want to hear from anyone who may have any information about this incident and the events leading up to it. I’m also appealing for anyone who has any doorbell, CCTV or dashcam footage of what happened to contact us as a matter of urgency. Every piece of evidence is crucial in an investigation such as this.

“We know Kings Heath is a close-knit community, that was demonstrated last night by those people who assisted the victims at the scene and who spoke to our officers about what they’d witnessed.

“We will have members of the Northampton Neighbourhood Policing Team in Kings Heath throughout the weekend, and I urge anyone who has information, or indeed concerns about what happened to please speak to those officers.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101 or call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111. Information can also be submitted online at www.northants.police.uk/RO.

Please quote incident number 26000327776 when providing any information to make sure it gets to the right person as quickly as possible.
