KickOff@3 Kent Tournament, supported by the Violence Reduction Unit (VRU), Kent FA, Black, Asian, Mixed Heritage Referees (BAMREF), and Safer Kent, is a valuable initiative that aims to positively impact young people in Kent through the medium of football. This event goes beyond just a tournament; it serves as a platform for engagement, diversion, and the creation of opportunities for the youth in the community.
Engagement:
KickOff@3 Kent Tournament provides a unique opportunity for young people in Kent to engage with each other, Kent Police, local organisations, and community leaders in a positive and inclusive environment. By participating in this event, young individuals can build meaningful connections, strengthen relationships, and foster a sense of belonging within their community.
Diversion:
Through the power of football, KickOff@3 Kent Tournament promotes diversion by bringing together individuals who are vulnerable to leaning towards crime. This event provides them with a space to speak with professionals that will support them and help them make healthier choices.
Opportunities:
KickOff@3 Kent Tournament creates valuable opportunities for young people to showcase their talents, develop their skills, and pursue their passion for football. By participating in this event, individuals can access mentorship, coaching, and guidance from experienced professionals, opening doors to potential career pathways in sports and beyond. Additionally, through workshops, seminars, and networking opportunities, KickOff@3 Kent Tournament equips young participants with the tools and resources needed to succeed both on and off the field.
Kent Police In collaboration with the VRU, Kent FA, BAMREF, and Safer Kent, KickOff@3 Kent Tournament is more than just a sporting event; it is a catalyst for positive change and empowerment within the community. By harnessing the unifying power of football, this initiative is transforming lives, inspiring hope, and building a brighter future for young people in Kent.
Whose it for:
It is aimed for young people who don’t ordinarily have an opportunity to get involved in football to bring the community of Kent together with some services that will be present to support young people and their families to maximise their opportunity in Kent. We will have BAMREF workshop sharing how to get into grassroots refereeing when young people from 14 years and above can have the opportunity to become a referee and learn core leadership skills and earn some money while they do it. It is aimed at young boys and girls between 12 and 17 years of age to take part in the tournament and bring their families and siblings join the day. Those taking part in the tournament will be provided food and drink and adults will have to bring their own food.
