Hartford Parish Council extends its sincere thanks to Councillor Robin Hunter, who stepped down on 20th August, after nine years of committed service to the community, having first been co-opted to the Council in September 2017.

Hartford Parish Council expresses its gratitude for Cllr Hunter’s dedication, integrity, and long-standing commitment to Hartford.

There is therefore a vacancy.

Any ten electors in the area can now call an election by writing to Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC) by 15 September 2026. This can be done by either completing the Notice of vacancy form or CWAC will accept ten separate requests. See details in the official Notice of vacancy on our website (https://hartfordparishcouncil.org.uk/documents/) under Public Notices

The form / letter to CWAC should be either:

sent to the Returning Officer by post: FAO: Returning Officer, Democratic Services, Cheshire West and Chester Council, COUNCIL OFFICES, THE PORTAL, WELLINGTON ROAD, ELLESMERE PORT, CH65 0BA
or scanned and emailed to: [email protected]

In the event of no election being called, Hartford Parish Council may fill the vacancy by co-option. More information about the co-option process will follow on this web page after 15 September 2026.

Please note, all Councillor roles on Hartford Parish Council are unpaid volunteer roles.

Please help us keep the Green Field clean and safe for everyone. Litter — especially food waste — attracts animals overnight, can caused injury to dogs and creates mess that volunteers then have to clean up. If you’re visiting, please take your rubbish home or use the bins provided. Thank you for doing your bit for our shared space.

Have fun outdoors this summer! Boccia is a paralympic sport, similar to French Boules. Just behind the Village Hall on Chester Road, there is a Boccia court. Contact us to reserve the court and borrow the play equipment for free.

The court has benches around it, plus there's a wheelchair-friendly ramp. There is an accessible loo in the Village Hall which we may be able to open for you, depending on when you play.

Alternatively, join a Tiny Steps Boccia social session. Tiny Steps is a local charity for families who have children with additional needs. Contact [email protected] to join.
