World Menopause Day is on Sunday 18th October. The purpose of the day is to raise awareness of the menopause and the support options available for improving health and wellbeing.
During October we will be displaying books and information to help you feel empowered and find the support you need. We can also source more titles for you.

This year’s Black History Month theme is Honouring Our Communities.
When we hear the word “community”, we might first think about a neighbourhood or a place on a map. But a community is much more than a location. It is created by people, relationships, shared experiences and collective action.

We always welcome local schools for visits. They are great fun and target the Reading for Pleasure aspect of the curriculum. So teachers and TAs, get in touch! The summer is over, the kids are back in school - but our children's offer doesn't stop. If you're a teacher or school worker, and you're looking for something fun (and free!) to do with your class, why not have a trip to your local library!

Our libraries offer free visits where we will chat about all the things you can do in a library, as well as signing up children for library cards. There might even be a story or two (and of course plenty of time to look at our brilliant books).

Drop us an email at [email protected] with the name of the library you're interested in visiting, and we'll put you in touch with the right people.
