CHANGES TO FIRST BUS SERVICES AS FROM 31ST AUGUST 2026

First Bus 13/X13 (Turquoise line)
The Turquoise line will disappear but the majority of its route will be served by making changes to the Orange and Green lines (see below).

Constitution Hill in Norwich will no longer be served however alternative services are provided by Sanders Coaches.
Attleborough will be served by extending service 14 from Wymondham.

First Bus 20,21 (Orange line)
Spixworth (previously served by the Turquoise line) will be served by extending the Orange line beyond Old Catton, with new connections to West Earlham, Bowthorpe and NNUH and additional evening services.

Sunday services to Spixworth are increased to every 30 minutes.
Frequency through the Fiddlewood Estate increased to every 30 minutes but St Faith’s Lane frequency reduced to every 30 minutes.

First Bus 14/14A, 15/15A, 16 16/A, 17 (Green line)
Frequency increase to every 15 minutes Monday - Saturday from Wymondham to Norwich, however some small areas of the town will not be served.

Harts Farm Estate will no longer be directly served due to low demand however they can access services from nearby Norwich Road. In return more areas in Wymondham will now have connections to Wymondham rail station.

Service 17, Broadland Gate, replaced by service 15 and 16 with peak journeys serving Broadland Business Park on weekdays. Yarmouth Road, Norwich section increased frequency to every 15 minutes.

First Bus 36/36A, 37, 38, 38A, 38B, 39 (Purple line)
36A extended to cover greater area of Harleston. 36 and 36A evening services to now be covered by Central Connect following retendering. An additional early journey from Long Stratton to city centre through to Horsford.

Hellesdon 37 services to terminate at city centre rather than going through to Mulbarton, which will be served by service 38.
The northern section of service 38 will now serve the new Airport link road at peak times. This does mean that Ives Road will now only have an hourly off peak service (reduced frequency) although there are nearby Orange line services available through the day.

First Bus 40/40A, 41, 41A, X41 (Charcoal line)
Frequency from Bungay reduced to hourly off peak, Monday to Saturday, based on passenger demand.

First Bus Excel A, B, C, D
More time added for Easton diversion due to National Highways works.

First Bus 2, 3
Great Yarmouth to Barrack estate frequency increased to up to every 15 minutes Monday - Saturday.
Gorleston to Bradwell frequency remains at every 30 minutes.
Great Yarmouth to Burgh Castle and James Paget Hospital reduced to an hourly service Monday - Saturday due to low passenger demand.

SPIXWORTH PLAY AREA UPDATES

BROKEN ZIPWIRE-Village Hall Play Area
The clerk has obtained a quote from HAGS ( the play company who installed the zipwire) the cost for new parts and instillation is £2,026.47. HAGS have informed the council that delivery time for parts and instillation is approximately 6-8 weeks. The council are seeking further quotes from other play companies to see if they can get the cost down for the necessary replacement parts.

ORCHARD ROAD PLAY AREA
Play Area Improvement update
The Parish Council has approved a quotation from Wicksteed to upgrade some of the play equipment and replace the main entry gate.

Wicksteed has confirmed that the lead time for the manufacture and completion of the works is approximately 10 weeks. Further updates, including an anticipated instillation date, will be shared as soon as they are available.

MUGA COURT-Village Hall Play Area
Unfortunately the lining has been damaged on the MUGA the clerk is obtaining quotes for repair. Further updates on the repair will be shared as soon as possible.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE ZIP WIRE LOCATED AT SPIXWORTH VILLAGE HALL PLAY AREA IS BROKEN. THE AREA HAS BEEN CORDONED OFF. THE CLERK HAS CONTACTED THE PLAY COMPANY HAGS FOR AN IMMEDIATE REPAIR. CAN WE PLEASE ASK THAT PARENTS/GUARDIANS KEEP CHILDREN AWAY FROM THE AREA FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY.

The Annual Parish Meeting is a community meeting, where residents of the parish (electors) discuss local issues and hear reports from the parish council. It is a meeting of the electors, not a meeting of the parish council, designed for public participation and open dialogue

The Annual Council meeting will follow on after the annual parish meeting. There will be 15 minutes available for public speaking after which members of the public may then observe the meeting.

If you would like to raise an issue, or have matter that you would like to discuss please contact the Clerk by the 27.4.26 , as councillors cannot make instant decisions on items not on the agenda.

Once the council agenda has been advertised it cannot be changed.
