Local Council Clerk Week 2026 starts today, a dedicated week to celebrate and recognise the incredible work clerks do for their communities. It’s a chance to raise awareness of the clerk’s role, connect with fellow clerks, and give them the recognition they truly deserve.

This year's theme is "Empowering Change" — a reminder that the most meaningful transformations often start right on our doorstep, powered by the people who make local democracy real. From bustling market towns to quiet rural hamlets, clerks are the unsung heroes behind the services and spaces that shape our everyday lives.

Stay with us all week as we shine a spotlight on the incredible work clerks do every day.
