Bawburgh Parish Council

🚨 Every summer Bawburgh faces the same challenge. Beautiful weather brings more visitors to the village green and river, and while most people enjoy everything that makes Bawburgh special with respect, a small minority spoil it for everyone else.

Cannabis use, littering, intimidation, dangerous parking and damage to property simply aren't acceptable.

That's why I organised a village meeting to bring everyone around the table. It was great to be joined by Parish Councillor Peter Markham, PC James Smith and County Cllr Ben Weston. We opened the floor to residents, listened to their experiences and worked through practical ideas that could finally help tackle these long standing problems.

This wasn't about pointing fingers. It was about finding solutions that protect residents while ensuring everyone can continue to enjoy one of South Norfolk's most beautiful villages responsibly.

I'll now be putting together a short report outlining what was discussed, the next steps and the actions we'll be taking.

Village meeting
9th July 6.30pm - 9pm at the Village Hall.

At the request of the Parish Council, our MP Ben Goldsborough, local councillor Ben Weston, PC Jamie Smith and other representatives from South Norfolk Council will be hosting a meeting to discuss the issues we are experiencing with the use of the village green during the summer months. They will also be talking about other ongoing problems such as rat running and littering.

All village residents are welcome to attend.
