Updates on our Stonehouse Station Entrance Improvements
To refresh your memories we started a new project, in late summer 2022, to improve the entrance to Stonehouse Station either side of the steps from Queens Road. Working in partnership and with the permission of Network Rail and with a grant from GWR's Community Fund, we are in the process of transforming the bank into a garden.
Network Rail put in a new fence and gate to the left as you go up the steps.
Lots of hard graft and progress has been made over the autumn/winter, including digging out tree roots (in all weathers!)... a big shout out to Mark and Pete who have worked doggedly to get these roots out!
We are now planting spring bulbs, primroses, salvias, donated shrubs and over the next few months we expect to really start to see a transformation.
Any donations of shrubs, bulbs, perennials and peat-free compost will be gratefully accepted. Please message us if you can donate. Thank you!
This is an ongoing project we are doing at Stonehouse Station as Gloucestershire Community Rail Partnership Station Adopters.
Thank you to Network Rail, GWR and GRP.
Watch this space! We'll be updating you on this project as flowers begin to bloom and planted growth takes off.
