St Cuthberts Lunch Club Welcome to the St Cuthberts Lunch Club. Are you retired? Would you like to meet people in a friendly atmosphere, or do you know someone who would?

A two course lunch is freshly cooked on the premises. Various entertainment takes place each week.

Photos from our outing today at The Old Rectory, Crostwick. It was a lovely day which our members thoroughly enjoyed.

We had entertainment from Lee Vasey, photos showing members dancing or joining in clapping and singing, whichever they do best.

Lunch was a choice of three main courses and deserts, something to please everybody and the food was as usual excellent.

To end the day a raffle provided prizes for the lucky winners.

So many people said how good the food was and what a lovely day it had been.

Easter came a couple of days early at St Cuthberts, with seasonal decorations and flowers. Hot cross buns were offered alongside the usual hot drinks and biscuits on arrival and they went down well.

Entertainment was provided by Joely which everyone enjoyed.

Easter eggs were given out to all members just before they left for home.

Next week will see us ‘on tour’ to The Old Rectory at Crostwick. See you all there!

It felt like the first day of spring yesterday, with the sun shining as our members arrived.

The club is open from 10 am, hot drinks and biscuits are provided on arrival, quizzes and word searches are given out for members to do, whilst also providing an opportunity to catch up with their friends before the entertainment at 11. Today we had Lee Vasey, a popular choice. This was followed by lunch, roast chicken and apple crumble on the menu today. A raffle and bingo complete the day.

It is lovely to see our members reconnect with old friends from the past and also form new friendships. The club also gives them an opportunity to swap information about services they may have used which will help others. Several of them stay in touch by phone during the week, strengthening the friendships they make on a Wednesday.

It was Christmas lunch day today at St Cuthbert’s Lunch Club. Members, volunteers and invited guests all enjoyed a two course turkey dinner cooked by Jane and her helpers. Terry Adams provided entertainment and several of our members were on their feet dancing.
There are a few birthdays between now and when we return and Pauline will be celebrating her 80th in a few days time.
The raffle provided some lucky winners with Christmas goodies to take home and there were gifts for everyone from Santa. 🧑‍🎄
Wishing everyone a very merry Christmas.
As Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve both fall on a Wednesday we will be open again on Wednesday 7th January.

St Cuthberts Lunch Club were at The Old Rectory today for the autumn outing. So many people commented on the lovely flowers which greeted us at the entrance on arrival.

Entertainment was provided by a favourite of everyone, Steve Allen for dancing or singing along.

Everyone enjoyed the lovely lunch which was cooked to perfection.

To end the day lucky winners took home prizes from the raffle.

We are always made to feel very welcome here and it was a lovely day.

Steve Allen was our entertainer today and our members were joined in the dancing by Steve’s wife Margaret.

Lunch today was a very tasty chicken pie with roast potatoes and vegetables followed by apple crumble and custard, all freshly made on the premises by chef Jane.

Members also enjoyed the usual quizzes, word searches, raffle and bingo.

VE day celebrations today.

Menu was reminiscent of the time and entertainer Gary Only played a couple of songs from the era.

Thanks go to member Hazel’s daughter Corrine, who made the cupcakes. They both looked and tasted really good.
