Now here's a blast from the past!

You might know Bert Bremner – certainly if, like me, you went to Mile Cross Middle School where he taught for many years. When Mr Bremner posted some pictures showing his younger self kitted out for a run in support of striking miners, I went to see him to find out more.

Over this weekend 3rd & 4th August 4 youth football teams from Rouen have been playing at a tournament at Easton College organised by Cringleford Junior FC and they got a mention during the report on ITV tonight - Here is the link

It comes after about a minute. The Norfolk & Norwich Rouen Friendship Association (NNRFA) have been influential in helping with the links with Rouen City Hall, who have been wonderful, encouraging the teams to come , funding them for transport, accommodation, passports and more. And Norwich City Hall came up with £1280 to cover some of the CJFC costs that they had to pick up regarding the Rouen Teams - brilliant. NNRFA members have been there for the long lengths of each day, and will be meeting the youngsters and their coaches on Rouen Road (where else?) to take them to see the Castle (Norfolk have given us free entry!) and then to City Hall for 11.30am to meet the Lord Mayor. This is real City Twinning in action.
