Looking for something different to watch whilst on lockdown? Here's a report made before the world went crazy about work happening in Norfolk to adapt to climate change. A report available on the Climate Voices platform (Belgium) - https://climatevoices.eu/europe/construire-des-murs-de-sable/
This report was possible thanks to the help from:

Face à l’impossibilité économique de protéger l’entièreté de son territoire côtier, le gouvernement anglais a fait un choix : en abandonner un tiers à la mer. Une décision qui concerne les régions les moins peuplées du pays, dont fait partie le comté du Norfolk. Ici, les habitants le...

We are now in meteorological autumn but dunes remain a great place to visit all year round. Some of our sites even get more visitors in the winter! Wildlife doesn't work to our holiday schedule, so please remember these easy ways to help us preserve your sand dunes.
We all enjoy the beach, but please don't forget that the dunes and the sea are full of wildlife and we are guests in their houses. Please enjoy responsibly. Look out for signs and information about where seals/birds may be or ask wardens where it's safe for both pets and wildlife to be off leads.
Vets had to put down two seals last week, including one injured in a dog attack.

ENDURE is a €2.1m project co-financed by ERDF through the INTERREG Two Seas Programme 2014-2020.
The project will look at establishing sand dunes as adaptive, living sea defences. Many traditional concrete sea defences are old and failing and can be expensive or challenging to maintain. Natural ecosystems can provide better, more resilient protection: sand dunes naturally migrate, flex and evolve to create a self-replenishing barrier to the sea.
However, this adaptive ability is often compromised by poor and/or reactive management that deals with the aftermath of erosion or flooding events, rather than preventing these events from happening in the first place.
Over three years the project partnership will work collaboratively using the best of cutting-edge science, design and innovation, to develop a coastline with more natural resilience to erosion, flooding and rising sea levels.
The project is led by Norfolk County Council and has 5 other partners and 19 observer partners.
