RIP those still on patrol.

Falklands veterans, their families and the families of those who were killed, still live with the consequences of the war today.

On this day 44 years ago RFA Sir Galahad and RFA Sir Tristram were bombed by Argentinian aircraft resulting in the loss of 50 men and leaving nearly 100 badly injured.

In the second wave of bombing that day LCU F4 from HMS Fearless was hit and four marines and two sailors killed. The wreck of Foxtrot 4 has never been found.

On the 82nd anniversary, shipmates joined eight standard bearers, the Vice Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk, the Lord Mayor of Norwich, the Sheriff of Norwich, other veterans and members of the public for a service in remembrance of D Day

06/06/2026

Today marks the 82nd Anniversary of D-Day.

On 6 June 1944, Allied forces launched the largest amphibious invasion in history, beginning the liberation of Europe from N**i occupation. Thousands of Royal Navy sailors played a crucial role in transporting troops, protecting the invasion fleet and supporting operations ashore.

As the generation who witnessed these events passes into history, it falls to all of us to ensure their courage, sacrifice and service are never forgotten.

We will remember them
We will remember them

⚓ Once Navy, Always Navy.
