We've had a message from a follower:

"Hi, I lost a bike pannier on the Marriots way (somewhere between Norwich and Reepham but not sure where) at the weekend."

If anyone has picked up a pannier like that pictured, that isn't theirs, drop us a comment and we'll put you in touch!

It's our first summer excursion tomorrow - our free walk on Marriott's Way. If you're joining us, be outside Marlpit Community Centre for 10.30, for a leisurely 2.5 mile stroll back into the city. Free, and non-members are welcome.

Hi everyone. Just so you are all aware, this page is run by volunteers - not by Norfolk County Council. If you have a question about repairs, works or diversions, we will do our best to help - but sometimes you might get a quicker or more effective answer from them! You can report damage on the NCC website, or email [email protected] or you can call the county council main number, and ask for the Trails team. We will continue to post items of interest, and answer messages, but we might not always be the quickest option. Many Thanks, Admin.

We’re recruiting! …

Policy, Research and Communications Manager

· Location: Home Based but with requirement for travel
· Salary Range: £27,000 to £30,000 pa depending on knowledge, skills, experience and approach
· Closing date: 4pm, Monday 6 September 2021

The role description and a full recruitment pack are available by contacting Amy Sugrue at [email protected]

About the Role:

The HRA, as the UK trade association for the heritage rail sector, is ambitious and progressive – not for ourselves, but for each of the heritage railways, tramways, museums and related organisations within our membership.

This new role offers a rare but challenging and rewarding opportunity to join our small team and make a big difference.

As we head into the next stage of our strategy, we’re looking to recruit to a key position that will accelerate and strengthen our wide-ranging support to our members and which will continue to ensure heritage rail has a strong voice.

Testing all that we do against the benchmark of whether or not it is of benefit to our members, this role will cover a wide range of communications, public affairs, advocacy and research tasks … and, to help us do this brilliantly, we appreciate that tackling these tasks and fulfilling the role effectively will require a candidate possessing a range of skills and experience, and who is adept at juggling multiple priorities.

Is this you?!

If you think it is and would like to find out more about this fantastic opportunity, a full recruitment pack with job description and details of how to apply is available by contacting Amy Sugrue at [email protected]

Very sad to hear that Alan Baker has passed away - at the impressive age of 91. He was one of our oral history interviewees on the Heritage Trail Project, and aren't we glad we captured some of his memories whilst we could? Listen at

Marriott's Way, the ultimate car free city route 😍

It's just over 4 months until ! Make sure Sept 19 is firmly marked in your diary for a day of avoiding car use. We're especially hoping for a *lot* more PlayStreets in 2021, all across the county. So why not start talking to your neighbours about closing your road for a community event?

Applications for play streets aren't open juuust yet, but they will be soon (👀 this space) so it's not too early to start planning & getting excited for a day of clean air, safer streets, and closer communities! 🌍🦽🍰🛹🏓🏏🚲🍕🛴
