Thank you to everyone who has taken part in our Summer Reading Challenge this year. Don't forget you can collect your medal and certificate at our Medal Ceremony on Wednesday 9th September from 3.30pm (medals and certificates to be given out at approximately 3.45pm).

If you are planning to come to the ceremony, it would be helpful if you could let us know so we can have the certificates ready. Just email us or give us a call on 01508 494891 during staffed hours.

If you can't make this date, don't worry, please just ask staff for your medal and certificate next time you are in.

The library will be closed tomorrow for August Bank Holiday. This includes Open Library hours.

Normal opening hours will continue as normal from Tuesday.

We enjoyed making banjos for our summer craft activity!

We had fun making tambourines and bookmarks at our summer craft event yesterday. A big thank you to everyone who came along!

Our next summer craft is on Wednesday 26th August 2pm - 4pm. No need to book, just come along and join in the fun!

Just to remind everyone, our Tuesday Bounce & Rhyme sessions at Poringland library will not be running during the Summer Holidays. The Wednesday session at 10:15 every week will continue as usual.

There's still plenty of time to sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge, so come on and help us reach the goal!

Can you believe it, we've smashed the 5000 sign ups for the Summer Reading Challenge across Norfolk Libraries! We're halfway to our 10 thousand goal!!!!! Well done EVERYONE.

Each year we challenge children aged 4-11 to read 6 books over the summer, but this year is slightly different! This time we're asking children to set 6 reading goals - anything from reading a book by a new author, to attending a library event. Each time they complete a goal, they get a sticker to go in their welcome pack. Finish the challenge and they get a medal and a certificate. It's really that simple! This year the theme is 'Read to the Beat', and we're hosting lots of music-themed activities in our libraries. The best bit? It's all free!

Plus there's even a mini-challenge for pre-schoolers, with their own packs and stickers (no medal for them as it's too small, but you still get the certificate, so that's nice).

There's plenty of time to get involved; you've got until mid-September to finish. So why not sign up and join the fun (did we mention it's all FREE? We did, but we'll say it again).

We would like to say a big thank you to our library crochet group, who have been very kindly donating blankets to the Norfolk and Norwich hospital!

If you would like to get involved with our crochet group, they meet in the library every Tuesday at 2pm. All abilities are welcomed!
